Dieting while on prednisone

Week 1:
Last year one of my new year’s resolutions was to keep eating healthy. Well, even eating healthy foods to often can be bad because my weight crept up to a bit over 140 and I am only 4ft9in. This year I have to loose a bit of weight. I am more comfortable at 115-120lb. But since I am on prednisone it makes me feel hungry even if my body is full and fine. I just have to block that out.
This is the first week of my diet. The first of the year I went to the Stouffer’s thrift store about a 45 minute drive from my home. It is worth the drive to stock up on lean cuisines there because you can get cases of twelve for 1/2 price or more. I bought three cases and receipt said I saved $55. I got sweetish meatballs, meat loaded pizza, and panini sandwiches. I also bought at Giant Eagle Special K. Special K bars, 100 cal snack packs & yogurt, and oranges.
I have done well this week. I have my coffee in the morning. I do drink international foods flavored coffee so it does have some calories and fat grams. A few hours later I have special K for breakfast. I use fat free milk with both. For lunch I have a yogurt, cereal bar or snack pack. I like having several options that I can bring to work. I drink water or diet pop. For dinner I have a lean cuisine. Then if I feel like I need a little something in the evening I have fruit or one of my lunch options.
My mom said she was going to cut back at the beginning of the year too but she has a harder time than me. The first night I came home from work she had made a huge dinner with pork sauerkraut and potatoes and corn. I did eat that night because pork on New Year’s Day is supposed to be good like.
The next evening my mom made a spaghetti dinner and bought trial mix she thought was healthy. It was Check brand cheese flavored my favorite. She left the bag open in the kitchen over night. I did not indulge. I do think her heart is in the right place but she doesn't read labels or much know healthy eating or eating light.
There are a lot of things she said she was going to get rid of in the house and instead she bought more. She is very over weight. She had gastricbybass and lost a lot and has slowly but surely gained some back. I worry about her habit but just have to realize she is an adult and I can not help her I can only make sure I am ok.
It’s easier to diet on the days I work than on days I am home. I take the dog for a walk and spend 30 on gazelle on my days off work. My job keeps me active for several hours so I don't work out on the days I work but sometime I walk the dog before work when I have time. I lost 2lb this week. Maybe if I am writing about it will help me stick to it better. Good luck to all those New Year dieters out there
