Personal Quarters of Charlie McComber,
Gteams Heartland Headquarters

I'm up for the day. Couldn't sleep much at all, and I'm hungry again, so I better get down to the mess hall before the line gets bad. It seems all I do anymore is eat and train, and train and eat. I'm going to have to talk to Crone about some time off. I haven't seen dad in a month of Sundays, it seems like. I did get some work on the Freightliner done, though, and that's cool. I just don't know what I'm going to do with it once I get it done. Maybe dad will have a use for it.

It was good to talk to Dr. Reis last night. I don't often get the chance to just talk to anyone, anymore. It seems like there is always a reason, always a lesson involved. That's getting mighty old. I think I'm starting to regret coming here.
Still it is cool to be a hero. I have to admit, it's damn cool to get letters from little kids and stuff. I never thought of that before. There's this big orphanage, from after the bombing in Nuke York, and a bunch of them have been writing to me. I try to respond, but I'm not much of a letter writer.
I've been talking to one of the teachers there too, and I know General Kinomoto has been on my butt to do some outreach so I'm going to see if I can spring a trip to the rotten apple on him. I guess the mutants there are crawling out of the woodwork. That's a good thing, I think. I hope that some of them can do good things there. In fact, I'm going to ask the general if we have a Gteams base there.
My dad said that he used to get runs to Nuke York all the time before it got bombed. He said it was a pretty city, once the second twin towers went up. He's hoping it'll be the same once the second liberty statue goes up.

I hear that parts of it still have fallout. That kind of sucks. I don't think I'd like living there. I wonder why anyone would live there, anyway. Still don't understand why people have to go blowing up stuff. That seems to me to be a very silly way to make a point. It'd be much easier to buy advertising or something like that. I don’t know, I'm just a kid.
Time to get going, got to get some extra carbs if I'm going to pass muster by Crone. I wonder, though, what her name is. Should have asked Dr. Reis that. Maybe I will if he's working late tonight.
