DELL SERVER EXTREME

July 3rd 2008 01:47
With the latest advancements in computers and components getting smaller everyday, its not unheard of to see something that was once thought impossible. There are now servers that one would have NEVER thought possible. This Server below is for the public though, I could not get to the government options which have options to handle 64 Processors in one computer.

For example:

Dell has a server option which is the PowerEdge R905 which can handle more than you could ever throw at it. Its capable of everything unimaginable. You can soup this thing up with 2 QUAD CORE Processors that are 2.5GHZ each with 1GHZ Hyper Transport each.

The Dell processors for this machine unfortunately are AMD. I would prefer Intel but I doubt you could feel the difference with that kind of speed anyhow.

The memory you can put in this machine is WOW, that's all I have to say. This machine can handle 256GB of MEMORY at 667MHZ, that's memory YES that's right. What the heck do you need that much memory for, virtually simulating a nuclear bomb test with every variable unimaginable with memory to spare, WOW.

You can fit FIVE 450GB Hard Drives at 10k RPM and another THREE Hard Drives that are 146GB at 10K RPMS also. The Hard Drives are 2.5-inch which are smaller than the
3.5 of today's typical Hard Drives.

You have the option of also sticking a DUAL channel 4GB speed FIBER card in this thing.

This server offers the latest and greatest in Technological advancements which I have yet to see with my OWN eyes. The things this machine could do is unimaginable to say the least.

With this technology though comes a hefty price tag of about 120,000 dollars in which 70 grand is in just MEMORY. With all that said I am overwhelmed with joy and excitement to see when we will reach speeds even I have never heard of.

Hi -- I've sent you an email already but sometimes they don't get through. Would you like a domain for this blog? If so send an email to charles -at- orble.com (change the -at- into a @) and he will be able to set one up for you.

You may also need to add the email address admin -at- orblemail.com to your address book in order to receive Orble admin emails in the future.

Thanks,
Jon.
