on Purpose: A response to Fringe Faith

July 4th 2009 07:49
What a great post Morgan! I feel as though I just met you, having learned what you believe your purpose in life to be...as well as your aims and what is important to you, overall.
You sound like a very loving, accepting person. That you want to provide companionship for the friends you love, speaks volumes about your character.
I totally agree that poverty, abuse, neglect and descrimination hinders our progress as a species.
As well, I believe that excluding people for ANY reason is a travesty that only serves to crush their spirits and dreams... prevent them from becoming all that they can be,and having all the wonderful things they deserve to have in life.
It is SO sad that the gay and transgendered population have a higher suicide rate. Are there stats somewhere that show who is in a higher risk category? We sure haven't come very far as human beings, in so many areas, have we?
I really enjoyed this,Morgan. I haven't seen much Orble in almost a year...glad to see you're still here!

I'm happy to see Ruby still here too, and I must say Ruby I am SO sorry to hear about your little Brother. I looked you up too, when I logged back on. I read that awesome tribute to your Brother. I think it read May 21'st 2009...the saddest day. I can't say much more than that right now.I'm going through the different stages of grief too, sometimes all of them...every single day.I am moving on,slowly but surely, but I'm not very good at that talking or writing about it part, yet.

Anyway...it's great to see you ladies again and I look forward to reading more from you both in the near future!

on Sarah Palin Quitting? Why

I found you! I can't believe I'm so daft that I didn't put the Raven/Nevar puzzle together until just recently.
I still get the nightly Orble updates but haven't spent much time checking them out, since last August, for personal reasons.I think I'm back now though...even thought about writing a blog myself, then stopped, then started again, then decided to wait until I'm sure I can committ to it...or not.
Anyhoo glad to have found you Raven. I've been a fan of yours longer than I have of the other bloggers.Ofcourse I also enjoy many others but I guess this isn't the place to laud them!

Ahhh the 70's where it all began...when we had 45's,record albums and 8 track tapes.I LOVE Bee Gee's music! Sad the members that passed away, but the music will never die as long as the fans live on.
I just read a report on CNN's site, yesterday,by Senior Medical Correspondent Elizabeth Cohen, titled "Disco tune saves man's life".
It's about Debra Bader who saved her Hubby's life by performing CPR to the beat of "Stayin' Alive". Great story...good to keep in mind if you're ever called on to do CPR. The American Heart Association apparently used the song in a PSA, showing how to perform CPR, and she remembered it. I will try to copy paste the link here, but I've never done that before so my apologies in advance if it doesn't work.
Really Long Link

Yes..I just heard via CNN that Sarah is stepping down in a few weeks.Very interesting!
Funny but I actually thought the Raven pseudonym was gone...I don't always have time to get around to all the blogs, though, but now I know!

I am late getting to my email tonight, including Orble's most popular posts for Friday. Imagine my surprise to see the Alaskan Chronicle at #1! Imagine my surprise to see the Alaskan Chronicle.
This is great! Glad you've resurfaced,Nevar. Now if we could just find Raven. 8)
I haven't heard much about that explosive volcano in your neck of the woods.( Redoubt not Palin) Any turmoil to report?

I think we can all agree that not ALL the rude anonymous comments were made by imbeciles. Some of them used some really big words...and correctly too!

on Fear

Ah Samaritan! Now I understand why I have not been able to comment on your blogs. I forgot my password so was commenting anonymously but signing my name at the end.Orble told me I did not have the necessary "permissions" to comment.Too bad...I had some very intelligent comments and all in teeny tiny font! 8) I finally found out I can reset the password. DUH!
I enjoy your blogs a lot. Most recently I enjoyed your wonderful tribute to your Sister and could totally relate to much of what you said about sibling relationships.
This blog on fear reminded me of something I heard once...that sometimes, faith and fear both require a similar response from us... to believe in that which we cannot see.Faith~the belief in something positive and fear~the belief in something negative.(This, ofcourse, doesn 't cover good and bad things that we can see) An example of faith in the unseen would be God,and fear in the unseen would be thoughts of impending doom. Personally, I would rather have faith in God to protect me (Psalm 91) than to fear the unknown.
I'm with Damo when it comes to spiders, especially the big ones. ICK! I don't fear them, though,so much as they really creep me out! Here in Canada,we don't get them nearly as humongous as Australia does.I received an email awhile ago with pictures of those ones. I'm still trying to forget those hideous images!
K...well I have to get to bed.I'm a world away from you,or about 15-16 hours in the past? I'm okay with that as long as you Aussies don't tell me what happens in the future. I like to be surprised!
Thanks again for the always interesting read.Have a great day!

on Who Is Your Favourite 'Friends' character?

July 1st 2009 06:12
Phoebe is definitely my favorite with Chandler running a very close second.I must say, though, there were certain episodes where one of the others would have been my favorite in that show because of their scenes.
For example Joey when he explained a "moo point"(It's a cow's opinion.)
Ross when he was at a girls apartment in the bathroom, and couldn't get his tight leather pants back on,and the hilarity that followed.
Also Ross when he accepted a tranquilizer "on account ofhis rage" over the turkey sandwich.
Monica when she left an embarrassing outgoing message about her period on Richard's answering machine.
When Chandler and Joey got Monica a Christmas gift that was "ribbed for her pleasure"
Rachel and Ross on the plane where she threw water on his lap and told the stewardess he'd had an "accident",then Ross drew on Rachel's face with indellible marker after she dozed off.
I have a lot more favorite lines but I'd be here all night writing them! What a great show! Great characters and let's not forget...EXCELLENT writers! I still watch repeats if the episode is a particular favorite. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

on April Fools' Day Pranks

April 1st 2009 05:31
I used to give friends or co-workers a message to call "Myra Mains" with the phone number of a local funeral home. It's especially fun if you're actually in the room when they phone and say " I'm calling for Myra Mains"
They're all on to me now, but those were some fun times!
