Day 2. - a lot of wind
October 13th 2008 03:42
Start time: 0.700
Temp: 33
Wind: Sadistic
Distance: 100km
We were warned. The north wind would blow and it did. 30 knot winds tore into everything and the ride was just a matter of survival. The real fun part were the hills that just kept on rolling.
We finished with Bruce, local pollie who came out to greet us and gave us a complete rundown on all things Whyalla - especially proud of the cycling culture he is working hard on. He reckons Whyalla will be a ahead of Adelaide for cyclist safety and riding lanes. Go Bruce Go!
Managed to cool down in the marina, and we took turns scaring each other about sharks. Kinda wore off after a while.
