Valentine's Should Be 365 Days A Year

February 7th 2012 18:05
Valentine's Day is a week away. It will be celebrated by couples everywhere with gifts and showering of affection and love. This is great. There is nothing wrong with showing someone that you love them. But Valentine's should be 365 days a year.

In all honesty, Valentine's Day is for women and children. It is a day when men are asked to show their girlfriends, fiancees and wives how special they are. And when children exchange Valentine's Day cards and candy hearts. Most men don't get or ask for anything on February 14, but hope to get it in a physical way. That's just the way it is.

That's why it is more important to show someone that you love them every day not just on a holiday, birthday or anniversary. Tomorrow is not guaranteed to any of us. Between now and Valentine's Day the reality is that some of us won't be around. So it is important to not wait until February 14 to show your love.

Love should be shown with no strings attached. It should be unconditional. It should not be predicated on what gift is received or given. It should be shown through word and deed.

It is easy to show someone how much you care on Valentine's Day. But the truth is it is easier to show them even more love over a 365 day calendar year. You can be more creative, more spontaneous. You can be more sincere.

Don't let Valentine's Day pass without doing something for your mate, but don't take the other 364 days for granted.

Valentine's should be 365 days a year.

Avoid Love Triangles

January 31st 2012 18:39
Avoid love triangles at all costs. This is one of the biggest mistakes that people make in dating and relationships. Whether you are single and want to date someone already in a relationship or in a relationship and want to see someone else the best thing to do is not make it a triangle.

Let's start with being single.

If you are single the best thing to do is not become involved with someone in a relationship. And a relationship is anything where one person is with another. If the person that you are interested in is seeing someone else, even as friends, don't try to come between them. Let them be and find someone else. Or wait for the relationship to run its course then try to form one of your own.

Seeing anyone who is married is a no no. Even if they are separated. First, the person who is married should not be stepping outside of the relationship. Second, you are wrong for going out with someone who is married. Third if the married couple is going through problems you being in the picture will only make things worse for everyone.

Now let's get to being married.

If you are married going outside of the relationship is not right. No matter the reason. If you love your spouse then there is no excuse. If you don't, then end the relationship first. Get a divorce then look for someone new. Even if your spouse goes outside of the relationship this does not give you a reason to do the same.

If you know before you get married that you're going to stray then don't get married. If you know your spouse will then don't get married. You're not ready. When you marry someone it is because you love them body and soul. Nothing should jeopardize that.

Reality is not the movies where we see love triangles all of the time. When the movie ends so does the role of the actors and everyone goes home.

In real life the movie never ends and someone gets hurt for life.

Avoid love triangles at all costs.

In dating and relationships what is the proper protocol for the day after the first date? Should the man call the woman? Should the woman call the man? Should both wait a day or two before contacting each other? Is a text message or email appropriate?

The day after the first date may be just as important as the date itself. It is a pivotal moment in the relationship, because both people find out how the other feels about them. This is the day when you find out if the relationship has a chance or not.

It is probably best for the man to contact the woman in some ay the next day. A phone call is the best way. If this is not possible, then a text is in order. But there is nothing wrong with the woman contacting the man as well. Especially if she asked him out. However contact is made it doesn’t have to be anything lengthy. Just find out how each other is doing, ask if your date had a good time and maybe hint that you would like to get together again.

I have found that the longer I go without contacting a woman the less chance I have of dating her again. So I try to get in contact with her the next day. She may not get back to me, but at least she knows that I am thinking of her.

If you make contact over the phone keep it light just as the date should have been. Be cordial and laugh a little. This way you both know that you are comfortable with each other. You don’t have to set up another date, but by talking to one another you lay the groundwork for one.

So try and get in touch the day after. This way you let the other person know that you are thinking about them and keep the door open for a relationship to grow.
