Darren Lockyer, should he retire from NRL
www.nrlnews.com
Brisbane Broncos playmaker Darren Lockyer is fighting a knee injury that realistically could end his career this year.
A gifted NRL player that has won admirers both sides of the border, the fullback come five eighth is a most gifted player that has worn the 'best player in the NRL tag' for many, many years.
Representing Queensland Origin, Australia and the Broncos - whom ever he played for the NRL Results have always been positive. Lockyer can score a try from anywhere and is most dangerous when opponents attack his kick on the 5th tackle.
If you ask Wayne Bennett when Darren Lockyer will retire, he will tell you never. But after problems with his knee, it doesn't look good. Lockyer had his knee reconstructed over the off-season and has since been unable to find full movement.
He has recently retired from the 2008 Centenary Test Match between Australian and New Zealand and many fear the worst as he remains in doubt for on-going games.
Should Darren Lockyer retire? Or will we see one more season out of him, as his coach Wayne Bennett leaves the NRL and Ivan Henjack takes the reigns of the Broncos for the first time.
