Simple Stuff To Improve Your Skin

August 6th 2010 03:47
People have cared about the quality of their skin throughout history. Until recently, all skin care was done using fruits and vegetables that are readily available.

Nature is very potent, and many of the products that are good to eat are also good for your skin.
The next time you are thinking you want to improve your skin. But you don’t want to use harsh chemicals or expensive products. Think organic. Go for organic skincare products. Head to your pantry and find out what you already have in stock.

*Oatmeal
Using oatmeal on your face has been around forever. I remember old movies joking about it. But in reality, it is very good for oily skin. You actually see oatmeal in many of the skin care products you buy off the shelf.

*Dairy Products (Milk, Yogurt, Sour Cream, etc)
Dairy products like those above contain excellent cleansing and moisturizing properties. When combined with the oatmeal, they are great for exfoliation. This is another item you see on skin products in the store. It seems they all want to add “Milk” in the name somewhere.

*Rose and Lavender Water
In addition to smelling great, these products work great as toners for your skin.

*Honey
Honey is another natural moisturizer. In addition, it will give your skin that glow of youth! There is also a lot of evidence about the benefits of pollen as a powerful antioxidant.

*Wheat Germ
Our list of organic ingredients wraps up with wheat germ. An excellent source of vitamin E, wheat germ will also help to exfoliate your skin and provide moisture. It can be used as a facial mask, and is especially valuable for dry skin.

Smoking Kills Your Skin

August 6th 2010 03:43
If you smoke, even occasionally, now’s the time to quit. Not only is smoking obviously bad for your health, it causes your skin to prematurely age. It does this by reducing blood flow to your skin, depriving it of oxygen and of vital nutrients like Vitamin A and Vitamin C.

It’s also been shown to slow your skin’s ability to produce collagen and elastin, and cause skin sensitivity and dehydration. If those aren’t reasons enough to quit, think of all the expression lines you’ll get around your mouth from just sucking on that ciggy — ouch! Love your skin and quit the ciggy!
