Dagger and Cloak
December 13th 2007 05:57
I don't know what anything means anymore.
I don't know who anyone is anymore.
The lines are blurred;
the lines are drawn in the sand.
I don't know where to tread, everything looks like a land mine.
Good is bad, bad is good - where does that leave me?
Nowhere.
Just a good girl stuck in a land mine-filled field.
The men in blue are the men in black,
so nobody's got good's back.
They took an oath,
didn't know it came with a dagger and cloak.
They don't know what anything means anymore.
They don't know who anyone is anymore.
Good intentions go to hell.
Crime is a bottomless well.
Only the strong will prevail.
Bullets fall like hail,
and the shield is flashed to no avail.
The good are bad, the bad are good.
The truth is veiled,
and no one knows what anything means anymore;
nobody knows who anyone is anymore.
People are dying.
People are dead.
The city is filled with dread.
There are gunshots to the head.
People raped in their own bed.
They took an oath,
didn't know it came with a dagger and cloak.
I don't know who anyone is anymore.
The lines are blurred;
the lines are drawn in the sand.
I don't know where to tread, everything looks like a land mine.
Good is bad, bad is good - where does that leave me?
Nowhere.
Just a good girl stuck in a land mine-filled field.
The men in blue are the men in black,

As much as it is nice to know that someone relates to your writings, this is one I feel bad that you can relate to...it's knowledge I'd rather be without, as I'm sure you would to.
Thanks for stopping by...

Yes, modern society is very messed up. The motto, "The Ends Justify the Means" and a sort of Machivellian attitude is all too pervasive and very troubling.
Raven, I know you can relate...

This feels like it could be a song, by The Verve or someone. You should put it to some suitably downbeat music.
