Computer/Internet Woes

June 17th 2010 00:27
I haven't posted for several days. I came in Sunday, after my girls left, to get on the computer to do my usual things........crochet group emails, regular email, look at pattern links, etc..........and maybe post something here.

Well the computer was working but I couldn't connect to the internet. So I called my provider. Spent a loooooong time waiting to talk to someone and then a good while with him trying to get things working. He finally put me on hold, came back and said it was in their servers and was going to be about 24 hours. He told me he would call me back Mon between 1 and 2. And he did. We went through it all again.

He switched me to someone else and we went through it all again. *sigh*. Let him check, he did..............another 24 hours and he would call me Tues around the same time. *sigh*. He didn't! *arggggg*

Finally around 4:30 I called them. Another looooong wait before I actually got a live person. Of course it wasn't the same on so I could vent my "unhappiness" on the person who said he would call and then did not! But she was nice and said they had the problems fixed and within minutes had me connected to the internet again. *big smile*

I spent most of last night and most of today getting caught up again. I HATE to miss a day of checking emails, much less more than a day, because I get so far behind it seems I won't ever catch up. I did delete a lot of them without reading them; esp. the crochet group emails as a lot of them were just for the groups. I did send in an apology post to my best groups, apologizing in advance if I missed something specifically for me and explained my situation.

So that is how it's been here. I am still hurting with the stones, though not quite as bad as I was. That is a good thing.

On The Way

June 12th 2010 01:04
Thankfully the stones haven't hurt as much today, though I am still in some pain and still have a little temp.

I thought I would show any readers what gravel from broken up stones look like after the lithotripsy is done and you're passing them.

Kidney Stones
Pieces of broken up stones

This was after the lithotripsy I had last year. Some of the "pieces" were bigger than some whole stones I have passed over the years.

On a sad note.....................
My son-in-law left today from Camp Shelby here in Mississippi, along with some others, headed for Fort Benning, Georgia and then on to Afghanistan. He is a Master Gunnery Sergeant and part of his job is helping train the National Guard Units that will be going to Iraq or Afghanistan. They want him there to observe the troops to better understand how to hone the training they are giving the Guard. He has already served two terms in Iraq before he was promoted to the training part, came here, met and married my daughter.

Any and all prayers will be greatly appreciated.

Comfort Food

June 11th 2010 02:07
The kidneys are still giving me fits. I so wish the stone/stones would come on out. This latest bout is my left kidney, which is the one that usually doesn't give me trouble. I hurt so bad late last night that I thought I was going to have to get hubby to take me to the ER.
After a late, late pain pill, about 2am I thought I could finally get to sleep. It's hurt all day today though not as bad. I guess hubby could tell I was hurting and he decided earlier that I needed a nap. So I gave in and took a nice long nap, which I hate to do. I have never liked sleeping in the daytime. I usually wind up feeling worse when I get up.Since I did have the late night, supper is late. I wanted comfort food so fell back on an old favorite---hamburger gravy and creamed potatoes. We haven't had it in a while and boy is it good. It has hit the "comfort food" spot.

On the crochet front, I have managed to get some done. I finished a market bag and even got Santa's long johns done.

Daily Dealings

June 7th 2010 02:28
Lately I've been dealing with my kidney stones again. I have lots and lots of them. One thing that makes that so bad is that I don't pass them like normal people do. Mine like to stay inside my kidney and play kick ball. And yes that hurts.
Another thing that makes it so bad is that you never know when they are going to decide to act up or how long they will decide to play.
So for the past few days, I have been in pain. I don't like taking a lot of pain medicine and I don't react well to most of it either. So I am limited in the kind I can take. Except for the one that pretty much knocks me out, what I do have to take just kind of dulls the pain. It makes for a miserable time and can be depressing

You're welcome. They are really neat people and what they are giving looks like a very nice gift.
