coolgirlsar to the rescue - April 2007

Copy Cat

For those that don't know me (which is probably most here) one little thing I'll tell you about myself is how accident prone I am and it's nearly always silly bizarre accidents I have. Examples are like the time I scolded my arm while trying to make myself a bath at 10pm in the darkened bathroom that didn't have any hot running water, or there is how I managed to cut off part of one of my fingers on one of our dining room chairs and even when a young child I somehow managed to cut my index finger on the lid of a germaline tin and still to this day have a nice v shaped scar. I can laugh at them all now after the wound has stopped hurting and healed but Daz my hubby is always amazed and confused as to how I keep doing this again and again.

So the latest accident happened this morning while having a shower. We have one of those showers that's on the wall and you stand in your bath, our bathroom is so small it's the only way we could get a bath and a shower in. The bath as per every evening and morning was rinsed out so there was no residue soap scum but still somehow I managed to step into the bath, slip backwards, go over the side of the bath pulling with me the shower curtain and poll which then catches on the bathroom window blind and all of it comes crashing down on top of me. Did I mention how small our bathroom was? Oh yes... hmmm maybe I did knock my head a bit harder than I thought.. well while doing this freefall motion I then whack my left elbow on the ceramic sink and toilet and my right arm on the door and wall and my head on the radiator. Somehow I'm still conscious and manage to call hubby who comes running in and I suppose if he hadn't been so concerned for me it would have made a funny site to see and between us both we manage to get me up to standing position. I'm ok now a little bruised and was very shaky for a while but I've managed to get Callum to playschool which made him happy

Yesterday was the first day of the Easter Holidays and with it came a beautiful sun shiny day although a bit windy. I'd arranged Sunday night with my sister Emma that we'd take Callum and her two children (Eloise and Alex) over to a new park I'd heard about and let them run off some of their energy.

So yesterday morning Callum was all excited about seeing his cousins after lunch and going over the park, he hasn't seen them for a couple weeks. Unfortunately my sister phoned around 11am to say she'd woken up feeling ill and couldn't make it. After a few tears and questions of "Why can't I see Eloise and Alex?" I managed to calm Callum down and told him that I'd still take him to the park

Tree leaves! Even though it was a lovely sunny day yesterday it was extremely windy. We had to pop out to the supermarket to do a bit of shopping and it wasn't until we stepped out the front door we realised how windy it was. Not to matter though Callum loved it as there were loads of tree leaves being blown around. It took us about five minutes or so to get him down the alleyway as he was chasing them round and round trying to jump on them and stop them. It looked so much fun that I joined in too... maybe that now explains how long it took to get a journey of 30 seconds...

Eventually we made it to the supermarket and something about the sunny weather made me fancy some ice-cream so we bought a tub of creamy cornish vanilla ice-cream to have after our dinner. Callum and I covered ours in those little cake decorations hundreds and thousands and chocolate sprinkles and sat and took our time eating it. Yum Yum. Quickly Callum's spoon was discarded as he found that eating with his fingers or sticking his tongue into the bowl was much more fun, especially when he stood up on the chair opposite the huge mirror and could watch himself doing this, while dancing to whichever song was playing on my pink Nano and getting dirtier and dirtier. Over thirty minutes it took for a couple scoops of ice-cream to be eaten and my little monkey monster had the time of his life. When I've downloaded the photos I'll post some of the pictures.
