Cookin' To My Own Tuna...
July 27th 2010 16:47
So as promised here is another post...and you guessed it..a recipe!
I don't know what made me choose this recipe to be the first to put on..maybe it was the noodles..or maybe all of the ooey, gooey cheese. MMM...is your mouth waterin' yet? I know mine sure is! Today I am going to share my moms recipe for Tuna Noodle Casserole. It's actually pretty simple and really doesn't take much...You might even have these things laying around the house!! OH..and I almost forgot..Don't feel like you have to stick to the recipe exactly..Maybe you don't like tuna..Be a rebel...use chicken!
What you will need for this recipe:
-Egg Noodles (a whole bag)
-Tuna (2 cans) ~~~Or Chicken~~~Or beans~~Or nothing..maybe you just want cheesey noodles
-Cheddar Cheese (1 cup) Unless you are like me and like it cheesier..then you can add to taste
-Cream of Celery (2 cans)
-Onion (1/2 of it) This will need to be chopped into small pieces
Alrighty..If you've got all of the ingredients then you are cookin'! Ok..I know it was a corny joke but I had to say it!
1.) To begin you will want to boil the whole bag of noodles according to the directions on the bag. Once they are finished, drain them and leave them in the colander.
2.) Now you can use the same cooker that you used to boil your noodles in. In this, you will need to add the cream of celery, chopped onion, and the cheese. Warm this on low heat, stirring occasionally. Once your cheese is completely melted, add the noodles and the 2 cans of tuna or your substitution and give it a stir.
As a child I always loved this meal. It was a comfort food..kind of like mac-n-cheese! I really hope you and your family enjoy this dish! If there is any left save it for your lunch the next day..But if it's like my house..There never is any left
ENJOY...and think of me while you're eating it!
