Trouble logging in?
October 4th 2007 01:04
A few people have always had trouble logging into domain blogs. They can login to my.orble.com without any problems but seem to have issues with any other Orble domains.
We finally managed to fix this problem for someone yesterday! It was in fact a personal firewall that was filtering cookies. Setting the browser to accept all cookies made no difference at all because the firewall was stopping them before they even got to the browser.
So if you are having problems logging into an Orble site then the most likely solutions are:
1) Delete all your cookies and try to login again. On Internet Explorer this is Tools -> Options -> General -> and under Browsing History click Delete. For Firefox it's Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> under Private Data click the Clear Now button. Make sure the Cookies button is checked and then click on the Clear Private Data Now button.
2) Wait for the site to completely load before clicking on Login again. Rapidly clicking on the Login button multiple times will not work.
3) Set your browser to accept all cookies. For Internet Explorer go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy -> Move the slider bar to Accept All Cookies -> . For FireFox go Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> and check the Accept cookies from sites box. Also click on the Exceptions button and make sure there is nothing listed in the box.
Once you have it working so that you can login you may wish to tighten up some of these settings, but I'll leave that up to you.
4) If you have a firewall on your computer, or if your computer sits on a network with a firewall, make sure that cookies are being allowed through.
