Contentmentment vs Comfortability
Last wednesday, I turned 26. At 26, I've been promoted twice and am in a position at work most people don't even achieve in 10 years' time. I'm earning a hefty amount of money that again, most people don't achieve in 10 years or so.
I can say that career-wise I've gone quite far. Not so far that I can say I can stay where I am for the rest of my career. There are still places I can go to up the ladder, but for now, I am fine.
My colleagues and I were talking about this just this morning. Is it being content or being comfortable where you are?
Is it contentment want to stay where you are at the moment and enjoy it until you can say you want something more? Or is it just comfortability where you are?
It's human nature to want to stay where we are comfortable and stay there as long as we can. Our instincts tell us where our comfort zones are and makes us linger there until somehow we're forced out of it.
Either way, is it wrong to be too comfortable where you are in your career so you can focus somewhere else?
Just something for you to think about. I've been thinking about it for a month or so. Wondering whether or not I should leave the comforts of where I have been for the past year and a half and move forward or somewhere else.
Still thinking about it...
