Who are my family?
November 2nd 2006 03:58
As I'm always talking to you about your family I thought I might be expected to tell you a little about mine.
I live on my own, hence I'm a family of one!
My pets are my lorrikeets who arrive regularly at my window sill, mostly to be fed.
They screech at me then talk. I talk to them.
They get jealous when I have a friend in and even if I talk on the telephone and have cut me off a couple of times.
So my family now extends to anyone I can find to talk to, neighbours, friends, acquaintances even shop assistants.
When in need grab anyone you can.
I even talk to myself in my head.
I was brought up in a family of boys, with a stay at home mother and working father and we lived in a house with a great big yard.
We always had animals.
My husband lived similarly but had no sister, and did not have pets.
When we married we lived in a house with a swimming pool and not such a large yard.
We had quite a range of animals.
Now I live in a small unit with very large grounds and the gardens are very well maintained.
One day I'd like to live in a large house again, with lots of animals.
Communication, when I was growing up, involved more instruction and direction.
Communication when I was married was similarly deficient.
I
I tried a few round table discussions that went quite well but no-one was rushing to have them.
I think it is much better for children to grow up in a house with a yard and animals, rather than a unit.
So that's just a little about me. I have three grown children who all live overseas in different countries.
The telephone is a big part of my family.
I pinched yesterday's art for katyzzz which I had originally planned for Conversation in the family.
So to-day I'll rustle up whatever I can.
I'm afraid to-day things got a little muddled but I may leave things as there are rather than endeavour to fix them. Blame computers

Well, for me my family is small, and I believe it gets smaller as the generation goes by.
At this moment, my family are my housemates, my bible study group members and my choir members.
Guess I am creating it big again.

Nice hearing about you.
Did something happen in your life? No family other than those you now live with?

Learning Something Everyday

My family members (mom dad and bro) only gathers during special occations like birthdays and festive season. We do our best to keep in touch via email and SMS.
I now have two extra family members which are my prince and pricess of the family (my niece and nephew). Having kids around is really something different and they just turn you around. Other than that, my family of Chirst also having babies so I am like "aunt" to every kid in my circle of family.
When it comes to baby-sitting, we have a large group of baby sitters there to stand by carrying the babies around. It is fund but tiring at the same time.
Things are pretty all right except most of my immediate family members went through a tough time in life this year. Either we are in the hospital, or met an accident or financial difficulties due to the events happened... well, at least the women of the family all went through hospitalization (me included).
So that's all about it. Hope it cleared some of your questions.
Well, as long as they are good posts, you will always have readers. ^_^
