Clicking speed - Vampire Wars
September 30th 2010 00:31
Okay, I only found this out today, and I've been playing the game for over a year now. So, even if I'm a bit slow, I still reckon this will be news for some people.
Here goes...
When I click on a mission, I always get a little box with a clock, and a clickable link in the box that says "Try refreshing?". You wait a second or two to communicate with the Zynga server, then the page refreshes, and you can click the mission again.
What I learnt today was: you don't need to wait. You don't have to wait till the page refreshes to click some more. You can just click the do-the-mission link multiple times, and by the time the page has refreshed, you'll have done the mission a number of times.
Now, there seems to be a time limit, or some sort of limited input buffer. On Internet Explorer, I've only been able to click around four times; any clicks over that didn't register until the page refreshed again. On Firefox, I've been able to click around 9 times. The increase in speed is shocking.
So, thank you, Anonymous commenter, for teaching me this.
And damn you! I don't know how many hours, days, weeks of my life I've spent waiting on that refresh clock when I didn't have to.

You seem to be able to "queue up" the most clicks on Google Chrome, but even then it takes a while to process them.
