I have seen this phenomenon, shall we say, quite a lot around Sydney, including churches oddly enough. However, I felt the need to share the wonder that challenges the very foundation of the English language.
During my last lecture for the year I was given a handout exploring "Common Learning Styles", especially the question that Im sure has come across all our minds, probably more in relation to the beer goggle syndrome - ARE YOU SEEING OR IS YOUR BRAIN DECIDING WHAT YOU SEE?
Read the following paragraph:
"Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at Cmabridge Uinvervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the litteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a ttoal mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is besauae ocne we laren how to raed we bgien to aargnre the lteerts in our mnid to see waht we epxcet to see. The huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but preecsievs the wrod as a wlohe. We do tihs ucnsoniuscoly wuithot tuhoght."
WELL, if you got to the end of that without pulling your hair out of your head, Kudos to you.
I on the other hand was was born to jumble letters. Being a true scrabble nerd from the age of 10 and completing the word (SMH on cartoons page) at age 13 (even though i never really read for fun - except blogs of course
) I did not think it odd I found the above so easy to read.
If you see any other examples around, take a photo or write them down. TAHNKS FUR RAEDNIG!
