clarice cliff comes to stay

You could be forgiven for thinking our garage was a set from Antiques Roadshow this week. As we spent some time sorting and unpacking some of Mr Front-Door's old boxes, treasures in the form of Clarice Cliff were unearthed.
Three pieces to be exact. Firstly the beautiful bowl vase with the cream petals. I have it sitting on my dresser now filled with lemons - a ritzy way to store fruit I know. This fruit bowl above is part of her Celtic Harvest range. I did a bit of research when I discovered the gems and there are some extremely detailed sites out there.
The most beautiful piece is this swirled jug vase. It certainly typifies the 30's Art Deco style and has that lovely old pearly cream lustre.
I have always associated Clarice Cliff's work in terms of the vibrant images such as these
but apparently, her work was extremely diverse.
So, as you can imagine, when Mr Front-Door was holding objects up now and again saying, 'Do we need this? I began to pay close attention.
I hope this inspires you to search through some storage you may have forgotten about.....

Well, I wish my other half had goodies like that packed away, sadly it's only likely to be old steam engines books with him! I am loving the waterlily bowl at the top.
