Here we go folks, a list of all the nominees, including my tallies and reactions in each category. I didn't do all that terribly. Probably the same as every year. Alternates count as .5 points

2012 Oscar Dream Ballot

January 24th 2012 03:13
Each year when it's Oscar predictions time, I do my dream ballot of what I'd want to see get nominated. I'm including scores that were disqualified because I don't really care.

This is an odd year for the Oscars and the main reason for this is the mystery of how many films will be nominated for Best Picture. The number will be no less than five and no more than ten. Most pundits are predicting there will be around seven films. The other questions in this award season go something like this:

How much did the Academy like Tree of Life? Will it get in for Best Pic? Director? Will Brad Pitt surprise in a Best Supporting Actor nod to add to his suspected Best Actor nomination? Does the Academy love Bridesmaids as much as the rest of critics/awards shows? I’m predicting it gets in for picture and probably screenplay as well but I have a strong feeling McCarthy will end up being snubbed

Yeah, isn't she surprisingly wonderful! I knew from the trailer I'd be obsessed with her performance. Can't wait to see what she does next!

I did like 28 Days Later but it's not one of my all-time favs. I've actually never seen any of the Saw films. I was never really interested but yeah I heard the twist was rather silly

Rage, lol!

Oh no, I love Falcon and the Snowman but like I said, so very tough and I've seen like 26 things from him, I believe? If I were to rewatch it again it may end up sneaking in, but it was def one of the final choices. Thanks so much for the comment! Yeah, I love that Madonna story And also him telling James Franco when filming ending, "okay I have to break up with you now"

Bryn -- Okay! I will definitely put it on my 'too see' list

Bryn - ahahaha. Well, yeah, I guess the general inclusion of The Crying Game is an automatic spoiler, isn't it? Oh, well. I couldn't in good conscious leave it off. Hmm.. you know.. I think Orlando should count. I'd say yes, probably. That would have been such an interesting casting to see re: Interview! I think if it were made today, I wouldn't be sold on it but because it was pre 'Cruise is Crazy' and pre 'Pitt is a mega star' it words

Bryn -- Good one with History of Violence! I wanted Viggo and Diane Lane in A Walk on the Moon to make it, but couldn't. I've never seen Betty Blue!

I still need to re-watch Total Recall -- I barely remember it. I believe I saw the director's cut? The violence was quite extreme.
