Chronicle - Movie Review from Pretty Much It
Basically, everything Eric (brown shirt) says I agree with.
First thing and favorite part: camera angles. I think you see it in the trailer but it's a found footage film, so the majority of the movie is filmed by the main character Andrew, but there is another girl who films occasionally, and I love when they used security cameras. It was just really interesting to see where all the cameras came from, and how they all came together.
The characters were pretty basic the classic loser, cool kid running for class President, and some other guy, (oh, and drunk father) which has been done before but I think because the idea of the movie was so different it works. I mean I thought the acting was pretty amazing. Personally, I like when movies use new actors which this movie did.
"The movie is delightful for its first hour or so, and then turns dark and disturbing." (Roger Ebert) I love that quote because when I was watching the movie I was thinking about doing a review and the first half I thought wow this movie is great, and the disturbing part was good but well disturbing.
Plot was really like I said earlier I loved the beginning and then it got a bit crazy, though I loved the final scene. I thought it was a great tie up. It was probably a little predictable, and the trailer shows a lot but I try not to let my mind think about what's going to happen, because I don't want to know.
