Christmas, a mixed bag when kids leave home

Putting up the tree when your kids are grown, for me is hard. Hard to get the spirit to do it. Memories flood back from the feelings of putting up the tree when they were home. It didn't feel like work, it didn't seem to take as long, even tho the tree was a real one and much larger then.. I am always glad when I am done,because even tho the tree is small and artificial, the feelings and meaning are very real. I love to look at it at night, I am grateful. And yes, I feel the true meaning of the season. There are times of feeling blue, tears, missing those gone,but feeling their presence. May the warmth of Christmas,the holiday season help all of us who have a mixed bag that gets opened each year at this time.
