Why there must be a Hell

June 29th 2007 17:59
At one time, there was no sin death or any other negative influences in the universe. God, the Archangels Micheal, Lucifer and Gabriel and all the other angels were in perfect harmony. Lucifer was perfect from the day he was created UNTIL INIQUITY was found in him. What was the nature of the iniquity? Where did it come from seeing that God wasn't the source of it since he made everything perfect? And furthermore, Hell did not exist at that point. To explain the iniquity, we have only one source PRIDE. To be proud of an accomplishment isn't what I mean. There is a difference. The pride described here is the kind that generates jealousy and envy. Lucifer had a very high position in the chain of command in the heavenlies. Then, through pride, he aspired to elevate himself above God and all the angels. This is where sin came from. inside Lucifer himself. Why Hell you ask? Just like here on Earth, prisons are for those who do not want to cooperate with the system. You just cannot let these types of persons loose among the other law abiding citizens. So, when the final judgement is completed, those who were uncooperative in the way of the Lord along with the Devil will then be consigned to an eternity in Hell. There, they will never be able to cause any trouble again and those who have elected to trust Jesus as their savior, will enjoy an eternity in heaven in the presence of God and their loved ones as well as the people who went on before all the way back to the beginning of creation.

What do you think?

We have all sinned and deserve God's judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

So, what's your choice? It is all up to you! Be saved today!

A Root of Bitterness

June 28th 2007 03:47
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble [you], and thereby many be defiled; Hebrews 12:15

When a person is wronged in life, there is a decision to make. A.) Let the resentment build up inside and eventually it will turn to bitterness. The bible as stated above describes it as a "root" of bitterness. Being bitter against someone is much like taking poison into one's body and expecting the person to whom you are bitter against to die of poisoning! The only person who suffers is he who is bitter Or, B.) Be better. Refuse to give in to it and go to prayer and trust God to work it out and he will.

Party Time

June 26th 2007 13:22
Belshazzar gathered 1.000 of his lords to a great feast. They began to drink wine and no doubt got pretty drunk. But that wasn't good enough. He then called for the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had brought from Jerusalem. The party took a turn for the worst when not only did they drink from the sacred vessels, they began to praise the gods of gold silver iron wood and of stone. Then, at the height of the party, a hand suddenly appeared near the wall and began to write a strange message. The king's face changed and was so frightened that his knees began to shake. The writing was such that the king called his wise men and they could not interpret the message The king guaranteed that whosoever would give the right interpretation would be rewarded hansomely. Then, when all hope was lost, The queen remembered that Daniel had interpreted 2 dreams that the kings father had and just maybe he could help in this situation. So, Daniel was brought before the king. After he turned down the rewards, he then prepared to give the interpretation to the king. Daniel then began to chide the king for all the blasphemy that the king and all those that accompanied him had committed against the Lord. He then recalls the king's father Nebuchadnezzar and how the Lord gave him his kingdom, and how the Lord controls the course of history. He then describes how when lifted up with pride, the Lord humbled him and then he told Belshazzar how he hadn't humbled himself is spite his knowledge of his father's past. then he gives the interpretation of the writing on the wall

Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.

Dan 5:25 ¶ And this [is] the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

Dan 5:26 This [is] the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.

Dan 5:27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

Dan 5:28 PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

Dan 5:29 Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and [put] a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.

Dan 5:30 ¶ In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.

Dan 5:31 And Darius the Median took the kingdom, [being] about threescore and two years old.

The above references describes how the king was so absorbed in the party, that unbeknownst to him, the Medes and Persians diverted the water of the Euphrates River and as it lowered the Medes and Persians went under it and the invasion was on. As a result, the king was killed the same night and they took over the kingdom as indicated by the writing.

The lesson is not to get so involved with the world, that the things of God are forgotten and when judgement comes, it is too late for repentance.

Hypocrites in the Church

June 20th 2007 12:32
There are plenty of them because I constantly hear this as an excuse for not accepting Jesus as their savior. Seems like these people let what others do stop them from getting the blessings that they would otherwise recieve. In Matthew 25, Jesus addresses the pharisees concerning their hypocritical attitude again and again. These people were the organized religious leaders of the day. So, you should just leave it to God to deal with them and just decide to commit yourself to the Lord.

THE ORIGIN OF WAR

June 19th 2007 02:49

Where do wars and fightings among you come from? They come from the lusts that burn in your flesh. You lust and have not, and kill and desire to have but you cannot obtain, you fight and war and in spite of that, you still do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive because you ask for the wrong reasons To consume it upon your lusts. James 4:1-3

The Christian Connection blog is dedicated to communicating the gospel of Jesus Christ to a world filled with darkness. It is not intended to promote hatred, racism or any form of antagonism toward any particular group. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to gain entrance into heaven. The world when God created it was perfect and without blemish of any kind. When man was created he was instructed to have dominion over all the other creatures. He was to reproduce after his own kind fill and subdue the earth. He was and still is the object of God’s love. Satan in the embodiment of the serpent used the promise of Godhood through the consumption of the forbidden fruit . As a result, sin and death entered the world and man was now separated by this sin from God. God had a remedy for this. He sent Jesus into the world to be the sacrifice for all the sins of man past, present and future. Jesus as God in human form, with all the characteristics of man including temptations and feelings of a man so he could understand us. God in his full glory could never be approached by man without the man being consumed. This is because none of us in our sinful state could ever be in the presence of God and live. So, as Jesus in the world walking among us, we could then interact with him. In the Old Testament, the high priest entered the Holy of Holies once every year first for his own sins and for the sins of the people. The problem with this is their sins would be remembered every year (they were only covered) In other words, they were carried forward each year. When it came time for Jesus to come, He then became the lamb of God who didn’t just cover sins he completely washed them away through the shedding of his blood on the cross. After his resurrection, he also defeated death as well since it is the consequence of sin. If you are a believer, be thankful to God that this message is being presented to the world through the amazing medium of the internet. Thus, I am an online missionary to the world. Pray for this ministry and tell your brothers and sisters to join in as well. If you are not a believer, this is your opportunity to come to Christ and have your sins forgiven and know the love of God for you. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes on him should not perish(go to Hell) but have everlasting life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world might be saved through him. Jesus is not in the business of condemning you. The truth is you by rejecting his offer of salvation are condemning yourself. So if you have any doubt that you are saved and on your way to he aven , Just do as Romans 10:9,10 says If you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. It further states that all who call upon him shall not be ashamed. There is no difference between the jew and the greek for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. And lastly, whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. So, get it settled today and surrender to Christ and be blessed

The Lost Son

June 16th 2007 20:02
A father had two sons and one of them asked for his inheritance. After he had his money, he departed into a far contry and there wasted his money partying and living for himself. He even bought his friends things. Then hard times hit. He soon spent all he had and was broke. He became so desparate, he took a job feeding hogs in a pig sty. He must not have had enough money to buy food to eat either because even the corn husks themselves looked appitizing to him. He then came to his senses and realized his father had more than emough provisions and said to himself " what am I doing here starving to death when I could be back home where I won't be lacking anything?" So, he picked up and after telling his boss that he quit his job and collected his last pay, he started off for home. Meanwhile, back at home, his father was standing in the road waiting and looking off into the distance straining his eyes hoping perhaps the very tiny figure he could see was his long lost son. At the same time, the son as he was nearing home, was thinking that perhaps his dad was very angry for what he had done, spending all that money like he did on foolishness. How embarrassed would his father be knowing all the disgrace he brought on him? As he drew even nearer to the house he noticed that someone was running toward him. Yes, indeed it was his father with arms outstretched. Well believe it or not, he wasn't angry at all seeing that the son was willing to work as a hired servant concidering himself not worthy to be called his son. He planned to confess his sin before his father in the hopes he will have mercy on him and forgive him for his rebelliousness. His father also had the best robe that he put on him and a ring was placed on his finger and a brand new pair of shoes for his feet. As they neared the house, he could smell the aroma of delicious roast beef being cooked and the sound of a party going on. As he entered the house, he realized that the party was a celebration of his return home.

Out in the field, his older brother was working the crops and he soon thought he heard the sound of a party going on. He moved closer to the house and he saw one of the hired servants working outside and asked what is all the commotion about? The servant answered and said, your brother has come back home again and your father has killed the fatted calf and the party was all for him. He now was very mad and refused to go into the house. He then drew his father aside and said why are you lavishing my brother with all these things when he deliberately went out and spent all his money so foolishly and I have been here with you for many years and never gave me even a kid so that I can throw a party and be happy with my friends. The father then answered and said you are always with me and all that I own is thine. After all, you should be happy for your brother because this your brother was dead and is now alive again, was lost and now is found. What does this parable mean to us today? Well ,the lost son represents the wayward believer that after a time of backsliding comes back to the throne of grace and recieves forgiveness for his/her transgressions. Also notice that when he went astray, he was a son and when he returned he was still a son even though he was feeling unworthy to still have a relationship with God. So, if you are backsliden today, just return to God and sincerely ask for forgiveness and God will restore the fellowship that you had with him in the beginning. May this bring hope to you. Don't let the enemy lie to you by telling you that God won't recieve you back in the fold.

Commentary on Psalm 1:1

June 15th 2007 13:31
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful

What does this mean to the modern believers? To walk after the counsel of the ungodly is simply to start taking the advice of those outside the faith concerning the principles to live by. This is the first step to backsliding and being overcome by the world. The next step is when you start hanging with those who are not following Jesus Christ. It is at this time that you will begin to adopt their sinful habits. Then, finally you will begin to even persecute your brothers and sisters in the faith. So, just remember not to look to those outside of Christ for moral guidance in your life

Go Ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and, lo, I am with you even to the end of the world. Matt. 28:19,20

According to the above reference, Jesus has called all believers beginning with his disciples to go out into the world and spread the message of hope that all may come to Jesus in faith believing. But there are some of the opinion that believers should "mind their own business" and keep their religion inside the four walls of the church! Some of these people are in high places and this has resulted in the almost total elimination of the expression in the public arena. Also, I along with other believers would be disobedient to Christ's command. For believers, this is not an option but a command. So, if a person doesn't want to hear it, then that's one thing but to try to restrict through legislation the disemination of the gospel message would be the loss of religious liberty which is one of the fundamental rights our forefathers fought and died for in this nation of ours. In today's high tech society the internet is another way the message can be brodcasted throughout the world.

Do You Dabble With Sin?

June 11th 2007 20:14
And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years. Judges 13:1

Someone said that Sept. 11th occurred because this nation had over the past several decades departed from the Lord. Some were offended by this statement and the person who said this appologized publicly. But as offended as they might have been, there is some truth in it. Yes, it is true we have departed from serving God in America. And as it happened in Israel it can still happen today. God can and will turn us over to our enemies to drawour attention away from the path to self destruction. Hopefully, we will take heed before it is too late

Does God Send People to Hell?

June 10th 2007 18:54
These days, everybody and their brother has their own view of things when it comes down to the Bible. One such view is that God "sends" people to Hell. This is evidenced by the response of people saying things like "Surely a God of love wouldn't send a person to Hell." Obviously, many of these people haven't studied the bible very extensively. The truth of the matter is God doesn't do anything of the kind. In fact, it is his will that all be saved. The problem is man's free will. Yes free will is the only way for man to make a genuine choice of wheather or not to follow God or the Devil. God did not create robots. God wants people to follow him but only if they choose to. So, in reality, the only way to get "sent" to Hell is to send yourself there. So, if you decide to do it your way, then you will be in Hell seconds after you die. Do it God's way and you will be blessed and go to heaven.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance

Is Jesus God?

June 10th 2007 00:31
John 1:1 states that In the beginning was the Word and the word was with God and the Word was God.

Then, later in the same chapter it further states: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth

You would think the devil would get tired of the job he has now. At first, as Lucifer, he had it made in heaven. He had a cush job right up there with God in second position next to his throne. Then one day he got to looking at himself and reasoned that why does God have to have the top head hauncho position? Why I deserve the place myself. So, he got together with some angels and said listen we need to take over here and run this place like it should be done. So, he declared (according to Isiaiah 14) For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yes that's right. He wanted the top job and also to be God as well. As you know he was found out by God himself who knows all things that this plot was in the planning stages and fired him from his job and threw him and all his buddies out the door.Guess where they ended up? Here on earth thats where but this location would be temporary as the next verse shows. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. When God is through with him here, he will be cast into Hell and that will be the end of him and his demon followers for all eternity. So all you believers out there who read this post take heart and the next time the Devil tries to tell you lies tell him he's going to Hell and to shut his mouth

Every Idle Word? Matt. 12:36

June 8th 2007 18:20
This verse when studied in depth, has serious implications for the believer today. It states that(Jesus speaking here) But I say unto you that EVERY IDLE WORD that men shall speak, they shalt give account thereof in the day of judgement. This means that words are more meaningful than one may at first assume. A slander here a cuss word there all building a case against you. Or, a kind word given here and there will contribute to your reward at the believer's judgement By thy words you will be justified and by thy words you will be condemned. Another example of words having power is when Ananias and Sapphira in the book of Acts lied to the Holy Ghost and when they were confronted dropped dead on the spot (And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.) And a while later, his wife met with the same fate. So words are powerful and a revision to the old saying is this "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will destroy me."

Daniel and the Lion's Den

June 8th 2007 04:12
There have been persecutions of Christians for centuries and this is stated in 2 Timothy 2:12 Yea and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

A good illustration of this is found in the Old Testament book of Daniel. Daniel was one of the many jews that were taken prisoner and taken to the kingdom of Babylon when he was just a young teenager. While there, he witnessed many things and he saw his friends thrown into a fiery furnace because they refused to bow down to an idol set up by king Nebuchadnezzar in the plain of Dura. He also witnessed the miraculous deliverance when they came out of the fire without even one hint of smoke on their clothes

These Six Things God Hates

June 7th 2007 13:34
"These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination to him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,a heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord amoung brethren" Proverbs 6:16-19

Yes God is love but, there are things that God hates. One of the worst things is when professing believers create division in the church. Another thing is the proud look. That look comes from a heart that thinks that he or she has acomplished things in life themselves and does not give God any credit for helping them along. A good illustration is when Nebuchadnezzar who was the king of Babylon had that proud look. He had a dream about a very large tree that flurished and was very lush. It's fruit was much and provided food. And the beasts of the field sought shade under it. Then a watcher came down from heaven. He instructed that the tree be cut down the leaves cut off and the fruit scattered all the birds chased away and the beasts be driven away. Only the stump of it was left. The wise men in Babylon could not interpret the dream and the king was troubled by it. Daniel was sought out to interpret the dream and here is the interpretation of it

Questioning God

June 6th 2007 12:52
It seems to be the past time among higher critics of the bible to always be questioning God. Why is this so? Don't get me wrong, it is ok to ask questions with the motive of seeking to understand the things of God. But, when the motivation is to attempt to win an argument against God or his people, it then is a whole different story. Is questioning God a new thing? The answer is NO! This has been the cause of the whole problem of the human race since the beginning. Who was the first to question God? The answer to that is Satan himself as described in Genesis 3:1. After God had completed the creation, he placed the man in the garden of Eden to take care of it(that's right work was the way things were even then. It was not a curse) The curse was that work became very hard and very challenging after the fall. Yes the Devil asked "YEA, HATH GOD SAID, YE SHALL NOT EAT OF EVERY TREE OF THE GARDEN?" This was the first instance that doubt entered eve's heart. And he also twisted the message that God gave Adam as well. Genesis 2:16,17 states God's command to Adam "And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt NOT eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt SURELY DIE. The Devil was only half right. He left out the part about not eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. As a matter of fact, it was the first LIE ever told because something only half true is in reality a lie. (see John 8:44) How did Eve answer this question? She acknowledged the fact that they could eat of the trees of the garden but, she added to the original command by saying that they were not to touch it (see Revelation 22:18,19) She added to the word of God as well which is also a very serious sin. By this time, the Devil had her where he wanted her! As a result, in the next verse, he told her another LIE "Ye shall NOT SURELY DIE" Then the Devil went a step further and insinuated that God was being unfair by withholding something desirable from them and promising them that they would be equal to God himself. (this is the very thing that got him banished from heaven) He was jealous of man because man was blessed and walking with God and the Devil was on the outside looking in. So, we see that questioning God or his word will, if done with the wrong motives, lead to more ungodlieness as stated in 2 Timothy 2:16 and specifically in verse 23. So the right question to ask is the one that the jailer in Acts 16:30 after Paul and Silas were brought out "Sirs WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?" The answer was and still is "BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED AND THY HOUSE" Perhaps you are asking many questions as well. Hopefully, your motive is to seek the knowledge of God and not just to prove that your petty little theory is right. Just ask Jesus into your heart and he will forgive your sins and will not turn you away(Romans 10:9-11) Do it today don't allow the Devil to steal away your opportunity for eternal life! (Revelation 3:20)

Now For The Good News!!

June 5th 2007 14:39
This post is about the good news. The fact is nobody has to end up in Hell. Jesus provided a way by which you can go to Heaven. His whole purpose for coming to this Earth was to be a sacrifice for sin. And once it was finished it opened the door to the very presence of God. (read the book of Hebrews for more details on this) The old covenant was based on the law which can never justify anyone. The new covenant is based on grace and is a gift that is available to anyone who believes. So, now is the day of salvation. Make it right with God now and don't wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow may never come for you. No body has to sin to have fun and enjoy life. So now access to God is available through the blood of Jesus to all who would come to him.(Heb. 10:19-25)

The Worst thing about Hell

June 5th 2007 03:11
What is the worst thing about Hell? Is it the fire? The torment? No it is the separation that will exist there. You will no longer be able to access God's presence. In essence, you will be in everlasting solitary confinement! So the old idea of going there to party with your friends is out the window. According to the account in Luke of the rich man and Lazarus, when the rich man died and woke up in Hell, he asked for just a single drop of water on his tongue. and a short time later (Luke 16:28)he asked that Father Abraham to send Lazarus to his father's house to testify to his five brethren so that they would not end up there. So the people that are already there, do not want their friends or family there. Also note that while he was conversing with Father Abraham, there was no mention of anyone else around him(vs. 23-31) So in conclusion there you will suffer alone.
