Thank-you Orble and Orblers

October 10th 2008 06:21
I just wanted to say thank-you to all active Orble bloggers for showing us inactive bloggers that this whole Orble system/site works.

I first signed up over a year ago, and to say the least I was sceptical. However, I made a few posts and recieved good feedback. I was given a domain as promised and proceeded to earn over $5 adsense, and then....

I drifted away. I know it was not the right choice, but I'm just telling you how it was. I should have stuck in like you guys, but sadly didn't, just because I was scared of making posts less than perfect.

In September this year I asked the admin for a dormant domain and was delighted when I was given that domain within 24 hours. (That's one of the reasons why I think Orble is great, I always get a prompt response to any queries ( unlike many sites ).)

I will be posting in my new domain now that I've had a few days tweaking within the next 24 hours, but have a few to thank first, so here goes:

Firstly, thankyou Jon, Charles and Cibby for the excellent support and guidance that you have provided.

Secondly, thankyou to all active bloggers like MelissaA, Postmodern Critic, JohnDoe, Ahmed, katyzzz, Jeanne Dininni, Bryn and many others that have kept me coming back and who have shown us people who are a little bit slow the way.

I tried to post this anonymously not because I am scared of being criticized, but because I don't want this particular post to be self promotional in any way. Please do not visit either of my sites just because of this post.

All The Best

Chris

What's your suggestion?

September 24th 2008 22:00
After several quality posts on my sub domain (now deleted) I was lucky enough to be given kbdollars.com by Orble about 7 months ago.

I originally intended to continue with the keyboarddollars theme and I have lots of ways of making extra online. However, kbdollars sounds like an oriental name for a website, and it's not a title I've ever been comfortable.

I have these questions for fellow Orblers:

1) Should I keep it how it is and just post my articles?

2) Should I change what kb stands for:if so any suggestions?

3) Should I just ditch the whole idea of developing this site and just work on the one I have recently been given?

Thankyou in advance

Chris

KB Dollars is back!!

January 24th 2008 22:55
I was given the privilege to write for my first Orble domain site about two weeks ago. Thank-you Charles and Jon for your support. I chose KB Dollars because I felt that the title summed up what we all hope to do here. That is make a few dollars via our keyboards.

Over the next few days I will be ripping up some of the posts that already exist on this Orble because quite frankly a couple are out of date and others were just wrong in the first place

What time to post?

November 7th 2007 22:57
Given that most users here are from Australia, would it make more sense to list at a different time as I am from the UK?

I only ask this because at our daytime the blogs are quite quiet. One day Orble will be truely global, but until then I have to be pragmatic

Hi

Welcome to Orble,

So you think it's funny to throw things at people who are/or seem to be less well off? I'm not putting your views down, but am just curious.

Hi Glen,

Yes of course, but I wanted to spend a few evenings viewing the most successful blogs on Orble first. That way I can get ideas on the best ways to organise layout, categories etc.
This post is going to be deleted as soon as my first proper post is finished over the weekend. I only made this post because I had been allocated this domain, but it still appeared on the inactive list.
Thankyou for your interest in pokerproblog.net, please check back after the weekend. It would be good to get feedback from an experienced Orbler.

Great article Michaelie,

Forrest whitaker is just such a method actor, he really is believable in every film I see him in. And Helen Mirren, you should see her in prime suspect, that is even more impressive.

Hi Cibby,

Thankyou for an excellent, very informative post. Your' actual stats and explanation were very encouraging. Incidentally, now that you have built a successful readership, would you prefer to get adsense commission instead of being employed?

I just came across these figures in a discussion, which just shows how Orble has grown. It proves that visitors can grow over time, this was from just over 1 year ago:

Hi MelissaA,

Thankyou for your' response, I am glad to hear your' connection is sorted. You are right, it didn't make any difference to views when I posted closer to Australian time. The views just happened a lot quicker. A warm welcome to the UK, which part of Britain did you move to?
I am amazed that someone would move to the UK to get away from all that Australian sand sea and surf.

Yes Bryn, that is an excellent point. That final image was so thought provoking. I still remember it and it's at least 20 years since I last saw it.

on WHEN CAN YOU CALL YOURSELF A WRITER?

November 9th 2007 20:18
Great Question Mrs M,

I believe you are a writer as soon as you learn to write, even at the tender age of 6 or 7. We tell our children what a neat writer they are at that early age, so I consider a writer to be someone who can write.
You continue to be a writer until your' book gets published, at which time you become an author. Alternatively you could continue to be a writer until you write an article which is published, then you can call yourself a columnist or journalist. On the other hand you are still a writer until your' writing sells and then you become a copywriter.
So to sum up, we are all writers until our writing gets us paid. Only some are better wordsmiths.

Chris
