Induce belief or action through this glass filter I call my second home. Where nothing makes one feel more comfortable and yet unbalanced, sloppy and in some cases paranoid and defunct. We sit here and watch a magnetic box of swirling colours and ticking clocks. Of Status Quo, of when and where. We shall Ride. Ride the tumultuous rollercoaster we shall. The rollercoaster that is your high and lows. from the wide open plain that you inhabit you watch your horizons close in leaving you with nothing more then a room with 4 walls and possibly a shard of glass to peak a look through. Nothing illuminates your presence but a dim street light and the pixelated screen you have come so close to know. Bipolar opposites. Mental anguish. Diluted? delusional? of my own self? to what have I become. or are these lies she speaks of? am I not what I seem to be? Is this a game of Trickery that I have established against myself to place myself in a safe and happy place. where I cant get hurt? But if so. why am I still hurt. Why do you make me question myself when you do not know who I really am. You are no mirror. You do not show a true reflection. You twist and manipulate. You darken and make me hesitate. Once believed to be a friend. not a dream but now a nightmare. Time to smoke a cone.
Champion - Promises Kept (2004)
To say it is only an album would be a lie.
This CD is a life saver. It completely changed my outlook on life, and continues to do so to this very day.
Raw lyrics and rhythmic guitar display a courage to say No to corruption and pollution of other peoples minds.
The message they aim to deliver is clear and accurate.
They deliver a straight up message of living your life with no regrets, disputing betrayal by lost loved ones, second chances in life and moving forward through life, even through the hard times.
It most definately is an album of colour, precision and a sense of conviction that is unmistakable and cannot be disputed.
For myself I found I was stuck between 2 songs in particular whilst listening to this Album. The opening track of "Promises Kept" opens up the album perfectly and rolls in straight away to deliver a "We Arent Here Too Muck Around" attitude which essentially sets up for the rest of the album.
The second song I could not take off repeat would be Track 6 - The Truth.
The lyrics are so straight to the point.
With lines such as "You know that the choice to live your life, lies in the palm of your hand" as well as "Now it's time to leave our mistakes behind" bring an almost overwhelming sense of security and pride within myself to better not only my life but those of love ones, friends, family and mankind in general.
Champion broke up in 2006 but there music still stands to this day.
If you get the chance try to grab a copy of this album.
Alternatively proceed to their Myspace profile to indulge in what really is the best hardcore album I have ever had the priviledge of listening to. Their Link can be found below:

Parkway Drive - Horizons
Australia isn't well known for their metal or metal related genres exports, yet there is one band on the forefront of delivering. Parkway Drive is doing their part to give other countries of the world a rude shock. Through relentless touring over both Australia, Europe, America and even Asia, they have carved a path across the globe with their latest album Horizons.
No other band does it quite like Parkway Drive, They bring this heavy sound to their music which is instantly recognisable if you are a fan.
Regardless of being a fan or not it WILL make you sit up and take notice!
From start to finish Horizons is a brilliant example of what Australian Metal is all about and it is a huge step up from their 2006 release of "Killing With A Smile".
Blast Beats, Adorned by Massive breakdowns whilst both Technical and Elegant twin guitars churn out what seems like never ending melodic notes that can only be explained by hearing for yourself!
Horizons puts on display who Parkway Drive really are, a group of young hard working Australian musicians that are rapidly honing in on their craft.
Tracks to take notice of on this album are;
Track 4 - Carrion & Track 6 - Boneyards
But in the album's entirety it sits as a magnificent piece of both hardwork and dedication.
It will definately set a new level for other Australian bands to aspire to.
Until Next Time,
Sir_HC
