Missing ingredient in tasty Posole!

January 4th 2008 15:26
Welcome again to Chili Bean Review,
For those who haven't gone to the internet for a complete Mexican Posole recipe, I can tell you that Martha is not giving out her heirloom secret recipe just yet. However, she was kind enough to inform me of one other main ingredient used as a self serve garnish, and that is oregano flakes. Sprinkle oregano, salt, hot pepper flakes and some lime juice on your hot Posole for a real meal that will keep you cooking all day.
Of course the ambiance of your dinnig experience will be greatly enhanced if you have your own private Mariachi band play "Cielito Lindo" while you savor Mexicos ancient flavors.
Until next time, this is Chili Bean wishing you happy chilis.

Marthas Mexican Christmas Posole Party
Marthas Mexican corn based vegeterian posole
I had never heard of posole until Martha B from El Paso border fame served me up a hot bowl this christmas. Martha explained that traditional mexican households eat the corn based soup at christmas time but that she substituted the meat portion of the recipe with soy links she picked up at the local grocer. This year she had to use fresh soaked corn grown locally in lieu of her normal canned posole (soaked whole corn kernels).
Martha served about twenty people her delicious mexican posole with warm corn tortillas, guacamole, fresh chopped white onions, tomatoes, chiles and refried pinto beans and cheese. The spicy posole with fresh lime juice, onions, salt and red pepper flakes really heated up our insides. Try the tasty posole recipe on your next holiday and connect with borderland Mexico. I rate Marthas Borderland vegetarian Posole Five Chilis for really Hot.
Happy Chili to Yall, Chili Bean

P.S. I will have a recipe from Her in a day or so, She's on Vacation still!
