The Pink Ladies are a breast cancer support group that paddle Dragonboats for fitness fun and camaraderie. This is that time of year when all the Pinky’s and supporters get together for their annual support walk, ‘Relay For Life.’
Relay For Life commences at 2pm on May 23rd at the Evandale Centre at Bundall. All members of the club and have experienced breast cancer themselves or know someone that has.
As the sun goes down, there is a very moving and emotional ceremony when candles are lit and floated on the water to symbolise those who have died.
The relay goes throughout the night until dawn to raise awareness of breast cancer.
“The word ‘cancer’ is not necessarily a death sentence.”
