Cheaper Or Not

In this world where you never know when something is going to break down I find myself questioning if I should buy cheaper or newer. Think about it if the cheaper one lasts as well as the new one then you are saving money. You buy the cheaper one more often, and then it is cheaper. But if the new one outlasts the cheaper one, well better off buying for more money. So I am in a fix where I am asking which is better? You need to try it out to see and discover. Right now I don't know - seems like no matter how much money I spend I am buying more for less!
