e-NORM-ous ...

Brooke is by far my most favourite artist of all time (that's discounting you as a bullshit artist of course ... and myself ...

I just wonder what Brooke's linoleum floor looks like in her kitchen ...

But seriously ... I love this print ...

The way she's captured a couple's love for each other ... and how she's subverted the 'not tonight dear I've got a headache' ... renews my faith in the female gender ...

To use a dragon to represent a woman lusting for sex with a guy who is trying to watch sport on the TV is a master-stroke ...

And the tired expression on the sporting-lover's face as he tries to stay awake to watch the final few overs? ...

Just one more masterstroke ...

and the way she's recreated the type of imagery in the Castle pool room in the b/g ...

Another one ...

I sure hope Brooke doesn't read these Posts of yours ... that's all I can say ...

David,
what can I say?
you have a gift for the subtext of a work of visual art...
and to think the footy season hasn't even started...

Norm,

I am so glad that Brooke’s work is back again. Lino prints have always fascinated me, since school, probably because I always had trouble getting my *back-to-front brain, around them.

But this is magnificent, particularly the detail … in the curling smoke… awesome.

Oriental even... I thought he was at some opium den of some sort? Certainly a ‘back room’ ...and ... in... pain? Is that a slash on his chest (a heart patient?)…

He looks tired, not only of the day, but of his life...sad..

To me the dragon is ominous - waiting for his heart : and again the detail, devinyl lino.

Respects to Brooke.
Hope you are both well.

Lilla

* back-to-front brain : I was born left handed, but because my mother felt it was satanic, she beat it out of me and I ‘learnt’ to function with right hand. What happened to my brain remains a mystery, even to me.

Lilla,
I spose that all those generations in the kitchen have given Brooke a new perspective on the material...it took her a week...I was watching TV and she was working on this at nights...appreciate your support of her work, it's very nice...sinister and righteous, it's one of the brain's mysteries...take care...
