Past cell phone cameras left a lot to be desired, often they were blurry images produced showed very little quality. The resolutions were around 1 Mega Pixel at best.
If you were lucky you may have one or two images you could use.
With the arrival of the next generation smart phone technology the image quality started to improve.
With most phones having either 3- or 5-megapixel resolution, may claim to produce quality images. Although the quality of test images taken so far using several medium priced cell phone name brands the overall image and video quality was at best satisfactory.
The Nokia's N8. With its super-fast shutter speed produces good images as does the Apple's iPhone The Iphone produced reasonable images but was slow to use.
The Galaxy phone performed well giving good value for money.
The Samsung galaxy II cell phone has a 8MP Camera with LED Flash and added auto focus.
The addition of a LED flash does improve images taken in poor lighting conditions. You can opt to use the front facing 2 mega pixel camera for self portraits or video conferencing situations.
My personal preference is the Samsung Galaxy II. I find the Apple product marketing too ridged , replacing a battery with a 3 party replacement could pose a problem. They seem to focus on selling their overpriced add- on`s.
If you want to take great images I suggest you use a digital pocket camera or a DLSR.
In a pinch the cell camera will get a shot but you risk getting a poor image.
