Dark days
Dark like opal cavities and
dying
sunless daisies,
“Two lights at a time,”
she’d say with fast paced oblivion.
It was feeding time for the masses.
Teeth coated with sweetness
breathed a sigh of relief,
“What shall we play today?”
Honeyed and prickled
like a promise at daybreak
or an awful taste
riddled with questions.
My sunny boy,
my dallied days reprieve.
Dark like opal cavities and
dying
sunless daisies,
“Two lights at a time,”
she’d say with fast paced oblivion.
It was feeding time for the masses.
Teeth coated with sweetness
breathed a sigh of relief,
“What shall we play today?”
Honeyed and prickled
like a promise at daybreak
or an awful taste
riddled with questions.
My sunny boy,
my dallied days reprieve.
