Caffeine Fix (p.2)
Dressed in her jeans, pair of chucks a plain green tank top under her brown faux leather jacket, Zoe carried checking out this lovely bookstore at Market Street in Fremantle. She's only been in Fremantle for about two days and the last time she was here was at least eight years ago so she feels like getting re-acquainted with an old friend.
Fremantle is in Western Australia near Perth. It's a very small town rich in history, nice people and of course fish! It is well known for the Freo markets where you can find all the fancy little trinkets and unique items you'd want to buy for your friends and family back home. Its streets look like the old english streets yet with a modern twist. The historic buildings turned into restaurants, cafe's and retail stores such as this bookstore, creates a medieval charm. It's perfect for those wanting to relax or have a small retreat from the busy cities, of course, not as if Perth was THAT busy anyway.
Her love for this quaint town of Fremantle goes beyond all of that. This street some call the "Capuccino Strip" or South Terrace, is what keeps her attached to the town. She loves coffee, and she loves the arts -- freestyle art. Capuccino Strip gives her just that. A dose of her daily Caffeine Fix with Art walking right by her anytime of the day.
A good book, coffee and live, freestyle art.
"Mate! Let me know when you have the book already, yes? Got to run to work!"
It's the bloke she literally bumped into a while ago.
"Hey, you're still here! Look, they have another copy of it so you can have this. Really sorry about a while ago. I'm in a bit of a hurry so haven't got a lot of time to chitchat. Take this if you still want to read it. here you go! got to run now, bye!
She took the book and stared befuddled at all the words spoken in one breath by that person running away from the store.
"Even the people here are ... charming. In a contemporary way." she said in a calm but a little high pitched voice, almost sounding confused at her own statement.
She looked at the book again and wondered to herself if she indeed still wants to read it. The summary at the back and the reviews seems to interest her so she marched straight to the counter and purchased the book.
"He's quite funny isn't he?" Said the guy behind the register.
"huh? who?" asked Zoe.
"The guy who mumbled his whole sentence loudly while handing you this book. One of the tourists?" He asked pointing at the backpack Zoe has flung over one shoulder.
"yeah, kind of. Been here before and fell in love with it so now, I'm back!" She explaine.
"great to know you like Fremantle. That means you're either a coffee or Art lover. Or maybe History too. Hahaha!" Said the guy, laughing mildly at his own thoughts.
"You can say all three I guess." She smiled.
"Here's your change and your book. Enjoy and have a gud'day!"
"Thank you, have a good day." Zoe said as she took the change and the bag and headed straight for the Strip.
The folks here are sometimes way too friendly, but Fremantle is just that for her -- a trusted friend. This vacation's going to be interesting.
