Busy Like A Bee

I just don't know where the time goes, just over a month and it'll be Christmas and not long after that a new year. Wow.

So how are things in the White Household? Busy, stressful, tiring with some fun and laughter thrown in.

Firstly we are still in the flat. It didn't work out well with the previous Estate Agents so we ended up seeing out the contract period and taking the flat off the market for a month or so to think about our next plan of action. That has been to put it on with another Estate Agent but this is a smaller set up (two offices currently). So far Daz and I have been impressed and they have far outdone the previous Estate Agents. Fingers crossed this time the flat sells it would be nice to have a new year and a new home.

Next I suppose I should say how Callum is doing. That super little son of mine is doing fantastic. He amazes me every day with his thirst for learning. The school are currently teaching them their phonetic sounding letters, how to write, how to read using the letters they are learning and mathematics. Now Callum has always been good with numbers so we've never had any concerns there but as far as letters and learning to read goes Callum has not wanted to do it so far. His reason for this is that he thinks that I won't read to him any more once he knows how to read. I've told him that that will never happen and that I've loved reading to him since he was a baby and will always love reading to him and will never stop. It seems that maybe that little talk has worked as he has this new found love for learning his letters. It's fantastic to see and he is doing brilliantly. His speech is coming along very well although last week the lady who comes into the school to do some work with him and a few others children reassessed him to see if he needs to be referred back for speech therapy. We haven't heard back yet but if he does I have no problems at the end of the day it's what helps Callum is what is important.

Socially he seems to be doing well at school. I have eventually managed to get out of him the names of several children he plays with that I don't know and there is a lovely little girl that we sometimes walk to and from school with.

So to say the least that even though I had this amazing little boy he has out amazed me.

What other things have been going on? Well I'm currently looking for a job. Something that seems the impossible to find but I'll keep on looking, it's just not easy to find something that fits in around your child's school hours and school holidays. Luckily I have a brilliant Mum who has offered the support of looking after Callum during holiday times if needs be which is a big huge help. Apart from the job hunting I'm also busy making a ton of Christmas presents for my family. Money is very tight for us at the moment but Christmas is such an important time of year for us. So between my Mum and I we came up with an idea. For so many years we've flittered away too much money on presents and half the time they don't get used or worn etc. This year we've set a budget of as little as you can spend £1 or less if you can, or if you want you can make something. It just has to be fun and cheap like a little tree present. It's been fun and hard work trying to think what to get everyone but I think we have most people sorted out now.

Now you can see why I haven't had the chance to hang out on Orble so much. What with school runs, housework, trying to sell the flat, making presents for Christmas, looking for a job oh and the last two weeks looking (and worrying) about an ill Daz I don't have much time to type, let alone think about what to type.

And on that note I must be off, time to pick up the little monkey monster from school. I wonder how much of his packed lunch he ate.

My love to all my friends here I hope you are all well and I am slowly trying to make it round to visiting your blogs.

Take Care.

Sarah.
