Building Residual Income

July 3rd 2009 10:53
This last month I have spent alot of my time building up articles on eHow so I can eventually earn a residual income that is substantial.

For those of you who don't know what a residual income is I will explain. Websites such as eHow allow you to publish articles online which will generate page views. Dependant on the website you will get paid a certain amount for a number of page views (usually 1000). If you add more articles and use keywords in your articles that make them easier to find, they will get viewed more. Once you have published your articles you can just leave them and they will generate money over time. Obviously the more articles you have and the more traffic you get, the more money.

So this past fortnight I have rather slowly been building up a collection of articles on eHow that will hopefully generate me some money. I only have 10 articles on there and last time I checked I had 49 page views. Might not sound much but it increases in larger amounts each day.

I've found that when you're building a collection of articles its useful if you can write about a certain subject, for me that is cats. This way you can link your articles together and get more traffic. This isn't a must though, as plenty of people write about whatever they feel like at the time.

As well as using eHow I also discovered Associated Content, and I've published a couple of articles there to test it out.

And finally my Adsense account has been approved!! I had been waiting for 2 weeks for that to happen so I could add it on here and on my other sites. Hopefully that will add a little income as well.

Ooo I almost forgot. I've been using a social networking site called Yuwie which I've now been on for a month. I don't think I got as many page views as I would have liked, and I certainly haven't earn't anything great from it so I would recommend it to you only if you have quite a bit of spare time on your hands and enjoy meeting lots of new people.

Thats all for now. Good luck this month my fellow writers x
