I had surgery on Monday the 23rd of August to aid in my obstructive sleep apnea and bad snoring. I had a tonsillectomy, uvulectomy (removal of the uvula), my soft pallet shaved back, straighten a deviated septum and turbinate reduction. Lots of surgeries for a complicated problem, sleep apnea. I've heard the success rate is not very high but for those it does help, it does wonders for them. So I gave it a go. I'm always tired and sleep a lot throughout the day. Hopefully once my pain is gone and I'm all healed up I'll be able to sleep through the night just fine.
I'm currently taking 10mg of Percocet mixed with 650mg Tylenol (2 pills) every 4 hours to control pain. I did try only one pill ever 3 to 4 hours yesterday and by the end of the day I was in pretty bad pain, so I started up the 2 pills every 4 hours regime again. It's working for me.
I just had to call and make an appointment to see my ENT surgeon for the 2 week follow up. I go September 7. I also had to call and have them call in a new prescription for me as I've only got 2 doses left of meds. Uh oh!
I know I'm beginning the healing process because I've coughed up 4 scabs in 2 days. 3 of them being yesterday and one the day before. I'm taking cough medicine so I'm not always on the verge of coughing due to the scabs releasing and irritating my throat and lungs via nerves. And hopefully that'll give the scabs more time to heal the new skin before falling off.
My nose is still super stuffy from the surgery but I'm using saline nasal spray several times a day so that should be helping some to keep it moist in there to aid in healing. So that's what's going on with me these days. I'll try to post more here and the months progress. Thanks for reading.
"A woman's body shape may influence how good her memory is, according to US researchers."
Northwestern Medicine team has done research involving 8,745 post-menopausal women aged 65 to 79. They found out that:
*Apple-shaped women fared better than pear-shaped women on cognitive tests.
*A little bit of fat around the waist may actually help protect brain function.
*Belly fat makes more of the female hormone oestrogen which is thought to help protect the brain from cognitive decline.
*For every point increase in a woman's BMI her memory score dropped one point.
*People who are overweight appear to be at a higher risk of dementia.

If you are fat, how often do you dream of yourself being thin? I do it regularly. I guess in my dreams I don't see myself as a large woman, which I think is kind of funny. I've been fat my entire life so I've never known what it would be like to be thin but somehow in my dreams my mind knows and it portrays me (most of the time) as much thinner. Even in my dream a few nights ago I was very thin, at a healthy weight for my height. It was nice to feel that thin for once.
Do you dream of being thin? Have you ever dreamed that you were much larger than you are? I'd like to know. Please leave a comment.
I need to lose weight. It’s been a struggle the past few months trying to lose weight. I ultimate goal is to lose 200 pounds, leaving me at around 140 lbs. I am 5’2″ so that should be a good weight for me. I’ve been honestly thinking about getting a gastric bypass to lose weight. I know that’s a huge surgery and it has many possible complications, but I really need to lose weight and I’ve not had much success staying on a diet. I love food too much. Plus when I’m on a diet I always feel like I’m missing out which makes me go off the diet “temporarily” and then it just plummets from there. I was on a diet for 3 solid weeks when I decided to get Taco Bell after water aerobics one day. Well that was a bad choice because I now go to Taco Bell every time after water aerobics. Now that’s just not right. I don’t have much will power these days. Not when it comes to food. How am I going to survive after a gastric bypass by eating less? How? I have no idea. No flipping clue.
I think I should go to a counselor to get this straightened out before I decide to get the gastric bypass. That would be a good idea. Maybe they can help me with a plan, one that I can stick with. I really need to lose weight and fast. I’m already pre-diabetic. I’m only26 years old, at 345 pounds. I can’t live like this much longer. It will start to eat away at my health. I’ve already got back problems due to this excess weight. Knee problems as well

I'm feeling pretty good about this year. I've not only quit smoking but I'm in the process of losing weight - if I would stay on my diet... It's hard to keep on track but my dad is helping me out by reminding me not to eat something if I recently ate, or suggests I eat something other than what I was aiming for. My family is very supportive. I've gone vegetarian. Mostly. I eat veggie burgers, some of which are actually really tasty. I use veganaise which is a vegan mayonnaise made from "expellar pressed canola oil" now that's some good stuff right there, right up in line with Helmans mayonnaise. Yum. Of course I eat lots of fruits and vegetables, but lately I've been skipping the veggies and just having a burger, which is making me hungrier sooner instead of later had I eaten the veggies.
I'm still single, but for the most part, I'm fine with it. It feels good to do what I want when I want to do it. I don't have to rely on someone else for transportation (say if I had a date), or telling me I look good (which I know I do), or other mundane normal things that go along with being in a relationship. No fights, no arguments, no ranting and raving, no other peoples messes to clean up. It's kinda nice. I don't know how long that feeling will last though. I am 26 now, I hope to be married by the time I'm 35. So that gives me plenty of time to find the one for me

Why is it that love is so hard to come by these days. Is it because a lot of today's women are overweight and the men are picky? Is it because of the lack of values in today's families? I just can't see why being single is so easy to be yet so frustrating.
I admit I'm in love with a wonderful guy, but he no longer lives near me. Quite far away I might add, and is living with another woman and her kids. He admits to loving me back, and lusts over me (which considering the circumstances I love!) but he just can't seem to get up enough *something* to move back near me. I would move to him but due to relatively recent circumstances I'm unable to work, hence have no money to move. Yes I'm living with my parents. [ Click here to read more ]

Alright, alright. It's been a while since I've posted anything. I'm not miserable anymore. Much. I just read a post at deeppencil.com and it involved how people view your first name. It got me thinking, although I've been thinking about this for years...
My name "Brittany" is so over-rated now-a-days. Half the time when I meet people they say "oh like Britney Spears" NO Not like Britney Spears. Like BritTANY. Ugh. And the other half are thinking it but don't say it. I can see their little smirk. Don't act like you can't hide it

Sometimes I feel very sad because I'm a mess. I don't take care of myself. I can't work. I am antisocial, and becoming moreso the older I get. My dog doesn't even listen to me 90% of the time. Yes he's still a puppy but dang, come on. If I can't get a dog to do what I want then how in the world am I going to be able to get MYSELF to do the things I need to do to get better?
I'm in a rut and I have no way out
