On-slaught [er]

September 13th 2008 05:53
so yah, this is greenpeace's ad that attacks dove. it smartly use dove's own ads formula "onslaught" (as posted in previous entry) and re-produce it as "onslaught-er". basically dove uses palm oil which destroy Indonesia's rain forest in its production process. go greenpeace go go!! haha, funny is, i had this exam today (brand management) and i answered one qs relating to how brand reacts to the movement for environmental cause- this one is a perfect example lol- feel bad for them tho, their campaign for real beauty and pro-age are revolting. but hey, i am one for environmental cause as well. so yah, vote one for real beauty. another one for forest rejuvenation!

[onslaught-er]- compare it with 'onslaught' in previous entry 'campaign for real beauty'

Campaign for Real Beauty

September 7th 2008 11:40
"Only 2% women described themselves as beautiful"
The perception of beauty is somehow, distorted. I believe that most woman all over the world agree with this statement. See how media displays 'beauty'. See how young girls desperate to lose some weight. See how woman around you just keep asking "am i gaining fat?" or " do i look rounder?". See how diet is a popular word, or how a cosmetic surgery is a little smart trick.

In fact, only 2% women described themselves as beautiful. Most of describe themselves as average or natural, 69% feels average regarding their physical attractiveness. Even more, almost half of them (42%) are strongly agree that they feel discomfort in describing self as beautiful. 9 out 10 wished to change some parts of their physical attributes. Is this stop here? No! 42% of them strongly stated that "If i feel less beautiful, i feel worse at myself in general". Get the idea of how it relates with self-esteem and happiness? So how the popular culture perceives this? Women today are expected to be more physically attractive than their mother’s generation was (63%); and society expects women to enhance their physical attractiveness (60%). 59% also agreed that physically attractive women are more valued by men. (Etcoff et all, 2004). Full paper: [The real truth about beauty: a global report]

I personally believe, people, that beauty is an essential to feminine souls, it could be their very core. How sad it is that the world has manage to deceive us from this. Woman cannot see themselves as beautiful. So people, now it is up to you: what is real beauty? The report also suggests that what make woman feel more beautiful is, being loved. Simple isn't it? So it comes back to love. Let's put value on woman, start telling people around you how beautiful they are. Cause they can say a lot of things how 'not beautiful' they are. And we, more than likely, can see none.

Lemme add one more, ladies: do you know why the world is so against beauty? Cause it is the enemy of humanity. Woman has strong and irreplaceable role in this world. We fight our fight and we fight alongside man in the battlefield. Cause we are strong, the world just get so scared and try to discourage us- that's why they lie to us. Strong and mighty man would be not as strong without a strong and mighty woman alongside him. That's why we need to raise up- to know the core of our beauty and the purpose of our existence. If one mighty woman can change one's life, ultimately change the world. Imagine what a company of woman can do? And to step out, we need to know first, how beautiful we are.

Btw, to give the credit, this campaign for real beauty is initiated by Dove. Here's their creative ads: <

first doodle out of doodlies

September 7th 2008 07:59
*phew* first line is always nerve-breaking.

Do you know people that always has a little inspiration back in their own little world?
Who dreams about a chic note with lots of thought, coloured with feelings and memories?
Who initiates photo-book project with classic design on mind?
Who loves to have a blog, thinking their whole way about the content- but stuck on the first move?

Well, that person is me.

I love ideas. I love details in them. I love to have my own simulation how it would go.
yet, days after i found them dead on my grey cells, never made it to the outside world.
Ok, they are alive VERY ALIVE- only if you can track my brain and decode what's inside.

that was way so me.

even this blog, i screamed my soul out thinking the content i would write inside.
i want it to be big. explore beauty. extraordinary. inspiring. encouraging.
breath-taking.....
oh come on, who don't want to make a history? who don't want to write a legend and living in one? ah, how i wish i am good with words and married to inspiration.
but anyway, i should start - so this is my first doodle, leading to doodlies that i hope you'll enjoy.

ugh! i just notice i cannot embed something (eg imeem) here, or can i?
