BreastFed
October 23rd 2007 04:29
You know I'm quite the unlucky one. My sister has these beautiful, straight, perfect teeth. They look like they came right off the most recent Macleans ad. I on the other hand, have small, crooked, insignificant teeth, a female match to Damien Leith but without the beautiful falsetto. The secret to her majestic molars, 'breastfed'.
When I was a babe, my mother took ill and spent many long months in hospital. In those days, babies were not welcome in with their convalescing mothers and so I was fostered out to family and friends, though whom, did their best, alas and alack, had not a one lactating breast between them. My teeth never stood a chance.
My sister on the other hand, drank freely and daily right up to the ripe old age of two, suckling at my mothers breast, taking her share (and probably mine too), washing her budding pearly whites in only the best.
As children, this polarised us in our taste choices. My sister loved milk, I understandably, did not. Even our dear old jersey cow, Valerie could not dis-sway (is that a word??) me from my milk aversion, although I must admit, her scalded cream did slip under my guard and made its way to my tummy on not a few occasions - but I digress.
The reason for my post today is to state, loud and clear, breastfed is best, not just for your childs teeth and milk choices in later life but also because it comes in quite the loveliest containers known to mankind. Aesthetically appealing but also quite unbreakable. Always in fashion and accepted by food authorities the world over. Lets not forget ladies, our chest puppies are not just for ogling, groping and mens general entertainment but much more importantly they nourish the ones we love. Please choice breastfed over bottle today. Your little ones teeth and overall health will thank you for it.
Just for something to say...Lyn.

How did you know that it was because you weren't breastfed that you had difficulties your sister didn't have? Just wondered how that was determined...

I dont, but what the hey - I thought it sounded perfectly plausible that her teeth were given a helping hand by the fact she was permanently glued to our mothers breast for the first two years of her life. I guess she could have just been genetically programmed with them but that would not have fitted in with my intro for my piece. lol. Honestly, I've been so gloomy churning out all these depressive bits of writing I'd thought I'd just throw that one into the mix for a bit of self entertainment.

Aha,I was wondering how you could know for definite....I think it's good to explore these things through writing, sometimes it helps to make sense of things.
Good luck with your self-entertainment
