Casino Royale, the best bond movie?

October 31st 2008 07:08
The best bond movie of all time? Yes, I beleive it is! Casino Royale is the most modern and realistic Bond movie of all time. Does that make it a real Bond movie? Not really... James Bond movies are famous for the gadgets and unrealistic abilities the main character possesses. The fact that Casino Royale gives 007 a more realistic social persona makes it the best Bond movie I've seen yet.

Casino Royale

James Bond, the ladies man that he is, (the man that most guys wish they could be when watching a movie like this) seduces the hard to get sexy main female character. He wins her heart by pulling off all the right moves, and some of the wrong ones. James bond 007 takes on the best poker player in the underground of bad guys. He comes out on top, but not after feeling a little "close to dead". After he over comes a drink of death and wins the poker game, he is off with the new love of his life. He soon finds out that she is double crossing him with all his winnings! Or is she? She gives the money away only to save his life, but in exchange she gives hers too?

I don't know exactly what the writer of this movie was thinking... Maybe he was sick of the "same old, same old" routine where the winner walks away with the girl. I personally would have not killed her off in the movie. I think that she would have served Bond well with her female qualities. Also, I think that the producer could have picked a hotter "hottie" for the female role. She was a good looking woman, in an ugly kind of way, but not the hot woman character most men would enjoy seeing.

An overall rating for this movie would have to be good. I think the producer pulled a little from what the movie could have been, but the main character portrayed the best bond I've seen yet.

My rating 7/10 stars...

I personally like Will Ferrel. His comedy sense of humor is stupidly entertaining. Sometimes you are left laughing so hard it hurts, but sometimes you feel like it is just a little too stupid to be funny.

Step Brothers is a half hearted movie about two idiots who haven't left home and moved out on their own yet. These guys are in their late 30s early 40s and still live at home with their mom and dad. I doubt that anything like this would exist in the real world (I would hope not) but that is what makes it funny. However, I was left a little disappointed from the actual movie versus the previews. I think the previews made the movie look more entertaining and funny than it really was. Watching the movie I had the constant feeling of "No, don't do that, you dumbass!" By the end of the movie you are actually happy for the brothers and rooting for them. There are some spots in the movie that make you laugh out loud, but not enough. I personally wouldn't watch this move again when it comes out on DVD, that is because it's a onetime watcher.

My rating, 2 ½ stars

Get Smart - One of the best movies so far

September 27th 2008 13:41
I personally enjoy watching Steve Carrel in just about any of his movies. As for watching him in his new movie Get Smart, it was a horrible movie, a complete flop. Just kidding!! I think it was probably one of the best movies that will be released this year! It's a good comedy that can be watched by the whole family.

The movie is about a secret agency of spies, where Steve is the main guy for a job he does way too well! So well in-fact that when he wants to be promoted to a field agent, even though he passes the tests with high scores, he is denied so that he can continue doing what he does so well. Then everything goes wrong, their headquarters is blown up, all field agents' identities are compromised and he becomes their only hope. And the sexy spy Agent 99 who is along for the ride

Wanted - the movie review

September 27th 2008 12:49
WARNING!! MOVIE SPOILER REVIEW!!

Who (and I mean what guy) was not waiting to see this movie with Angelina Jolie playing the role of a hitman? Or hitwoman, is that a word? Well, I was and when I went to the theaters to see it, I was half impressed half disappointed. I personally thought there could have been more action, more shooting and some more story to the twist of the plot. There was a decent twist to the movie, but there wasn't enough build up to make it climatic. The kid was just too easily turned into a badass assassin if you ask me

300 the movie, Kill Them All!

September 24th 2008 09:39
WARNING!! Movie spoiler review!!

Who doesn't enjoy a movie where the hero is a confident, hardcore, ass kicking badass? And who doesn't enjoy a movie with a hot woman dressed in old roman style clothing? I know a lot of people have reviewed this movie and have said that it was "ok". This is not an "OK" movie... This is one of the best movies that I have ever seen. It will be one for the record books, and a movie that people can always go back to watch when they are in the mood for a hard hitting action movie

What Do You Think?, Your Review!

September 22nd 2008 10:48
I think we are all starting to see here, I seem to like a few movies that majority have given a bad review. I am sure I am not the only one out there that feels that way! I bet that someone out there is reading this right now and thinking "Yeah, (insert movie title) was a good movie but Netflix rated it a 1 1/2 star movie and got bad reviews!!" If that is the case, I want to hear from you! Post your movie and describe why you enjoyed it so much! Tell us why everyone else thought it was so bad!

I am an action, adventure, sci-fi and comedy kind of guy. I rather watch a good comedy and laugh than a bloody horror movie. That's just my opinion. I believe that action movies would be at the top of my list though. Nothing better than a good action movie, some pop corn and a really cold beer (or 8, or 12) . Martial Art movies have to be my favorite action movies. I like a good shoot-em up fight movie, but I rather see a real martial arts film. The less guns the more fighting, the better. But sometimes I'm in a blast them all to hell mood, then its time to "Bring out the guns

Hancock, The REAL Review!

September 22nd 2008 10:27
WARNING!! Movie Spoiler Review!! Do Not Read Unless You Have Watched The Movie!!
Yeah, when I found out that the PR guy's wife has super powers, I was completely caught off guard. But I am getting ahead of myself. Once again, a movie that I like got a bad review by most people!! You have Will Smith (great actor) playing the role that no one would have dared to write a story about in the super hero genre. A super hero, who doesn't care, destroys the entire city to stop a crime (reluctantly) and is always drunk! What is better than that? The first super hero story to have a drunken super hero! I mean batman was hated by a lot of people in his role in Gotham, so the bad relationship thing isn't new until you see just how bad they hate Hancock! Then Hancock saves a guy who's in PR who returns the favor to our hero by cleaning up his act. Now back to the part of the movie that makes you say "WHAT?!?" The PR guy's wife has super powers??? Ummm.... Why?? Well that's probably (and I'll admit) the most corny part of the movie. However after that knock u off your seat from out of no where twist slaps you in the face they recover by making it actually an interesting part of the story. She turns out to be Hancock's "Kryptonite" when she is near him. So yeah, I would have to say, all in all, this entire movie weighs out to be a good choice for an entertaining movie night.

I appologize, it was the movie "Gladiator".

And there was no confusion between him and Heath Ledger. Heath was one of my favorite actors...

on Joaquin Phoenix quits acting

Good, I hate this guy as an actor!! I don't know why, I think it was the movie "King Arthur", but this guy is just too "body language" weird for me. I get those bad vibes from him.

Anyways, I'm sure to get some heat from this post, but I'm sticking with what I said. He comes across as a shady guy, beyond his acting abilities.
