A horror start but chin up!!

August 17th 2008 05:58
A shithouse day was had on Saturday. I knew I was in deep poo when Gallopin did absolutely nothing at a short quote and it was then I knew Weekend Hussler would get rolled.

Devil Moon and Dealer Principal turned in terrific runs to earn themselves another chance next time out.

It's pretty sad when your only collect of the day comes courtesy of a scratching, Sugar Babe was withdrawn on Saturday morning.

I went 0 for 7 but....stiff shit, tomorrow's another day.

Echuca Monday
Race 2 - 4 Mossbemad
Race 4 - 4 Four States.

Currently Tuesday's meeting is listed for Kilmore but if it's transferred to Geelong, get on the Freedman runners, he is killing them at Geelong on the Synthetic track at the moment.

Race 1 - 6 Cinnamon Bells
Race 4 - 15 Okaylah

Sandown Wednesday
Palm Trilogy - will win easily, he's a serious horse

J.J Liston Sakes Day

August 15th 2008 11:01
After Indirect got the bikkies for us at $18 on Saturday ensuring a healthy profit once Seymour was called off, we know have plenty of cash to start our spring off in the traditional spring lead-up, the JJ Liston Stakes at Caulfield.

Throughout the spring Punters Daily will bring you tips on all Melbourne races for those that want to punt on every single race of the card

In an unheard of move by a tipping site, I will be recording the profit and loss on an even one unit basis on every tip until Eclipse Stakes day, the end of the carnival.

CAULFIELD - LISTON STAKES DAY

Race 1 - 1 Magnetic

Race 2 - 2 Gallopin

Race 3 - 5 Viallico

Race 4 - 2 Sugar Babe

Race 5 - 11 Sparkling Satine

Race 6 - 7 Weekend Hussler

Race 7 - 2 Devil Moon

Race 8 - 3 Dealer Principal

Back in the swing of things

July 23rd 2008 23:27
It's good be back on the winner's list with Lady Zhivago saluting at $5.60 yesterday at Bendigo, Tuesday's pick was a scratching so we are running at a 50% strike rate and a 280% profit!!!

Cranbourne today is another heavy track so we need to be a bit careful with out money but there are a couple worth a few bucks

It's been a while

July 21st 2008 02:07
It's been a while since my last post, just been flat out and unable to put the time in but circumstances have gone my way so now daily free tips will be available from here on in.

Unfortunately the weather forced the Stewards to pull the pin at Pakenham today but we'll head straight to Kilmore tomorrow and Bendigo (VRC) on Wednesday

Born in Melbourne & raised in the quality outer-eastern suburb of Doveton, home of the White Eagles, in 1983 , Scott McDonald has shown all of the qualities that a Victorian naturally possesses - briliance, ability, level-headedness and the one thing that makes us superior from the rest of Australia - determination.

McDonald was signed by Southampton after an impressive showing at the 1999 Under 17 world cup in New Zealand and made his Southampton debut at 18 in the League Cup at Brighton, winning man-of-the-match in a 3-0 win (what else would you expect from a Victorian). Sadly a Ranga (Gordon Strachan) took control of the club not long after and gave showed McDonald the door (showing what a great manager he is

Bruce Clark hit it right on the head on Racing Review this morning, it's lazy journalism to pick the negative bits out of the report or to write an article based on the report when it hasn't been read or fully understood by journos.

Most of the rubbish has emanated from News Limited papers, especially Ray Thomas from the Sydney Daily Telegraph.

The articles in the Herald-Sun were a load of crap that weren't even written by the racing team, they were written by the state political reporter.

Treat them with a grain of salt.

The trainers at Flemington this morning thought it was hilarious....they are all waiting for their bribe from an organised crime figure!!!

Jumps racing isn't what it used to be with regard to the fences and there are positives and negatives.

The fact is that a slowcoach can now longer win any jumps race except the Grand Annual or the Great Eastern, these days because of the lower fences, as you say , the speeds are much faster than in previous years so good-class flat horses are crowding out the trainers' pets in jumps fields and in provincial areas that is a negative.

But, on the plus side the racing public gets to see horses like Toulouse Lautrec and Iron Horse, both Group I winners racing just that little bit longer. I would hate to think where Toulouse Lautrec would be if not for jumps racing considering the frustration he has given his patient owners.

Leonard,
Yes I am connected with Racenet as their Melbourne correspondent who is moonlighting as a Brisbane correspondent for the next couple of weeks.

I get to the races every Saturday and if you are in Melbourne would love to catch up for an ale after the last one Saturday.

Will have a look at Speedratings, perhaps I can get the boys at Racenet to give you a bit of a plug as well.

Claudia Karvan for me, there's something about her fresh-faced look that is gorgeous.

Catharine Zeta-Jones is also a tidy unit (what she sees in Michael Douglas I don't know) and rounding out the top three is Kelly from CSI Miami (can someone help with her real name).

I think that highly of her that I sit through an hour of David Caruso's excruciating acting just to get a peek of those gorgeous eyes....and ummm.....naaaah better leave it there!!!

If you had to watch the Melbourne Victory every week , you would bet against them too!

It eases the pain of their woeful efforts this year.

Keep the great start going and thanks for the free plug for my blogs, I will most certainly reciprocate.

As I said in my post, my knowledge of the fight game is limited but the magnitude of the event meant I had to have a go. I worked out a bet on maths logic

Didn't go my way but that is the nature of betting.

2 for 2 great start!!

Just something about betting against your own team. I have no problem doing it. Cash is king to a punter, cash feeds my family. In Australia my soccer team is the Melbourne Victory, they were champions last year but are having a poor year this year. I have been making great profits betting against them.

I would suggest that betting against your own team can be most profitable because you get to games see them live and see things that the TV just can't pick up such as off the ball running, the plays are clearer and you can see things such as is a player is being treated for an injury or notice his good work to get open being ignored by his teammates, a sure sign of internal friction which is the main issue at the Victory.

Keep up the streak mate!!!
