Boise State placed on three years probation

Boise State has been placed on three years probation for various rules violations. The football team will lose nine scholarships for the next three years.
The school already cut three scholarships from the football team after 75 different athletes over five sports had violations attached to them. The NCAA will not dock the school any more for practices though. Boise State on their self-imposed penalties cut three full contact practices from the schedule. Now the team will have just nine practices with full contact.
Boise State's women's tennis team will incur a one-year ban from post-season tennis play and scholarship reductions. The track teams, both men's and women's also get less scholarships for violations.
The probation period runs until Sept. 12, 2014. Three football players from the Netherlands, are still being investigated from the NCAA. Because any violation involving the three came after the school was under fire, keeps Boise State from falling under the repeat offender label for now.
