In search of large paydays

October 2nd 2009 01:58
Jon Gosselin halted production on “Kate Plus Eight,” and his lawyer Mark Heller said the reason behind the sudden work stoppage is that “Jon is resolved not to allow the TLC corporate machine to devour his family and promote the monster’s best interests over those of his family.”

Standing up for family tends to be a good thing, but how will Jon pay the bills in the meantime? Gosselin will try to command big appearance fees, which would yield quick cash, according to several companies who have negotiated recently with Gosselin. The operative word there, is “try.”

“He wanted more than $30,000 dollars to show up for just a couple hours,” said one publicist who was dealing with Gosselin for an event. “The funny part was we didn’t even reach out to him. He called us asking to come. We didn’t pay him.”

Playing guitar is quite easy

September 14th 2009 02:29
If you have a passion for music and you have got all the instruments with you such as the guitar or piano but don’t how to initialize then here are certain tips that shall help you in learning your new skill.

First of all , you need to have on hand, is a guitar and then hold it on your lap with your left hand holding the neck and the right hand draped over the body of the guitar. We are going to use a six string guitar and play it with the right hand. Each string correspond to a musical note and starts with the thinnest string and working our way down to the thickest string â€" E, B,G,D,A and E again. You should not confuse yourself with the two E strings that are the same note and they differ in the way that the top E is two octaves higher than the bottom E if the guitar is tuned correctly.

The individual strings make up the chords and these chords are accomplished by playing certain notes or strings together at the same time. There are number of simple as well as complex chords but you need to learn A, D and E to play a part of the song.

The major A chord is played by placing the fingertips of the first three fingers on your left hand directly behind the first fret on the guitar. Frets are the bars on the neck of the guitar. When you count for finger positioning, you should ignore the first or largest fret bar. This might seem to be uncomfortable but later you shall accustom of the same. Press the strings down firmly and hold them one string per finger. Next use your right hand to strum the guitar strings from the top to bottom. Perform this act several times and listen to the sound you are producing.

The next major chord D should be played by using the same fingers. Place the index finger on the third string behind the first fret. Place the next finger on the first string behind the first fret. Again, hold the strings down at once and strum the guitar. Again do this and try to listen to the music being produced.

The third chord you need to learn is the E major and for this you have to place your index finger on the third string on the front of the first fret. Place the next finger on the fifth string behind the first fret and place your third finger on the fourth string behind the first fret. Again, hold the strings down at once and strum the guitar and listen to the sound that is being produced.

The last step is the tricky part and therefore to play a simple song you have to switch the positions of your fingers from chord to chord. This shall take some time to learn but if you practice you can do it surely.

Michael Jackson is not my father

July 27th 2009 03:05
MJ's alleged secret lovechild Omer Bhatti has denied any biological link with the 'King of Pop'. Jackson feted him as an honorary son after inviting him and his family to move in with him. The budding singer from Norway, who lived with Jackson at his Neverland ranch for eight years, hails the 'King of Pop' as his "BEST FRIEND".

Reports had claimed that Bhatti was born after Jackson had a one-night stand with his mother Pia Bhatti in 1983. They were fuelled further after the young singer was spotted sitting in the front row alongside Jackson's brothers and sisters at his memorial

Tthanks to scientists who have discovered what they claim is a way to measure a person's suffering. Using brain scans, a team at the Oxford University has carried out a series of studies which have shown distinct differences between the brains of people in pain and others who are not.
Pain seems to increase the blood flow to certain parts of the brain roughly in proportion to the amount of pain felt, and we can measure that activation in a brain scan. What the scientists have found is that the brain possesses what they call a "pain matrix", with such feelings typically activating more than a dozen parts of the brain. This is in contrast to other senses such as vision or hearing, where stimuli are generally fed to just one part of the brain for interpretation.
Brain

In fact, according to the scientists, such findings suggest that pain could one day be measured objectively, a change that would have widespread legal as well as social implications

World's Largest Diamond

May 9th 2009 12:36
World's Largest Diamond In South Africa On January 25th 1905, at the Premier Mine in Pretoria, a 3,106-carat diamond was discovered during a routine inspection by the mine's superintendent. Weighing 1 1/3 pounds, and christened the "Cullinan," it was the largest diamond ever found.

Frederick Wells was 18 feet below the earth's surface when he spotted a flash of starlight embedded in the wall just above him. His discovery was presented that same afternoon to Sir Thomas Cullinan, who owned the mine. Cullinan then sold the diamond to the Transvaal provincial government, which presented the stone to Britain's King Edward VII as a birthday gift. Worried that the diamond might be stolen in transit from Africa to London, Edward arranged to send a phony diamond aboard a steamer ship loaded with detectives as a diversionary tactic. While the decoy slowly made its way from Africa on the ship, the Cullinan was sent to England in a plain box

People are panicking about the spread of swine flu and sweating the fluctuations of the stock market and banking system. Cars are going more than they're coming -- and these days that's the brands, not just traffic. There's tension on the sidewalks for those of us compelled to type while walking -- and for those who might have to save us from stepping into traffic.

Yes, there's a lot to stress out about. But here's an idea: CHILL OUT
