Bloggers Tips - by Kams

Blogging, the emerging innovation for sourcing crowds. To coup up with the race of this community driven technology, we need information/news. This is all about information, tips and trends from every corner of Blogosphere.

When all hopes lost, need SEO services. But?

I think I don’t have to explain the importance of getting high rank in search engine. Search engine optimization which is popularly known as SEO is the backbone of today’s web promotion. In fact your blog or website will never be visited even if there is tons of useful information for free, if search engine can’t find you or put you at the back of its thousands of search results.

In search engines like Yahoo!, Google, MSN, Alexa etc. people look for their searched products or services by searching a phrase or word related. Usually search engines shows two types of results when you search- Sponsored results & Organic results. Sponsored results are on companies who paid search engines to get appeared on specific keywords; usually payments are maid click through rate or impression based. This is way too expensive in long run for startup individuals or small business, especially bloggers like us. I had written more than a dozen topics on SEO methodology and techniques. Even Orble’s Blogging Tips section primary SEO tips are given, which is very helpful for new bloggers who are completely lost in search engine spider. But we all have to agree SEO isn’t child’s play need concentration, time and lots of hard work. Even after all those tips and advice still it’s very natural to feel lost. For those there are choices like USWeb, who offers professional SEO services to get high in search engine ranking.

SEO became the most popular buzz word since more and more companies are luring into this business. Naturally competition is growing, the price are getting competitive too. Web technology sure making industries grown out of no where. That’s the reason blogger’s who are planning to get professional SEO services should consider few things before choosing/paying any organization. Is the company reliable (check the web for records), are they reported as fraud (check customer feedbacks out of companies web pages), consider the organizations area of business and popularity too. These are very basic security protocol to follow before choosing any search engine optimization services. You will get prices as low as US$1k up to US $8K depends on quality of service and range. So it’s better to be smarter, than fool to loose that kind of amount.

How much personal you can be in blogging?

Mostly, we’re talking professional blogging here, not personal diaries and journals, as oppose Orble’s regulation. While being a part of the blogosphere I think we should ask-How personal do professional bloggers need to be?

Google Blog Search-Ping It

Few days earlier Google announced that you can now ping their blog search service to let them know when you’ve updated. Another good API, that will help you to drive some more traffic, as you know Google . This pinging system was just been graduated from google lab, means error free, so far.

You can manually ping it here(you just have to put your blog URL, that's all-it will be all over google in a minute) or do it automatically if your blog platform/software have manual ping configartion options. For WP user by adding http://blogsearch.google.com/ping/RPC2 to your ‘update services’ (Dashboard-> options->writing). Don't forget to save

Feeding on your Feed just got easier

Text Link Ads have just launched RSS advertising format called Feedvertising. A week ago I was talking about RSS advertising; nothing can make it easier than this. No editing, no programming headaches just sign up and ads show up in your RSS.
Two ways you can use Feedvertising in your Feeds:
1. To promote your own products, services, affiliate products, pages on your blog etc

Inbound search engine traffic: why bloggers need it?how?

You got to be joking if you say no. Since the entire search engines, SEO analyst and top class bloggers always saying inbound links makes your page rank high, your blog get index higher in search engine. Without inbound traffic there is no chance your blog will be get viewed by readers. As I recall one of the bloggers post here Blogger Prompt: Know Your Audience. So if you don’t analyze your inbound traffic how will you going to know them? That’s where inbound search engine traffic analysis come in. There are lots of tools available in the market both open source and premium that shows back links, but there is lack of options and features that are related to traffic analysis. As a blogger I always feel the needs of tools that will let me know the total analysis of traffic-from keyword analysis to traffic trends. But I prefer open source or free tools. After long search this one popped up-

103bees is a free tool for analyzing inbound search engine traffic. As with most tools of this nature you use it by adding a small piece of JavaScript code to your template and it then goes to work analyzing what SE the traffic is from, what keywords they come to your blog after searching, what landing pages they hit on your blog etc. You get 7 days of analysis for free and can upgrade to get 30 days (still for free

As we all know blogging become increasingly dominating web technology ever. From large corporate organization to tiny health store in LA is taking advantage of blog to reach community. Now blog is not just a diary we keep, where we lay down our feelings, thoughts and creativity etc. It has commercial value for advertisers who needs consumers involvement, and thus we blogger are having chance to get paid for bringing consumers involvements. If you have your own site (even in blogspot) and you are running Google Adsense you probably noticed already thousands of advertisement promising blogger $1000 payout/month for blogging. But what are actual opportunities available for bloggers without spending?

For example there are lots of good bloggers who don’t have technical skills for setting up there own blog sites. As I mentioned in my earlier post about solo blogging, it’s not for everyone. So the best way to get earning for blogging is- a contractual blogging job, network blogging, or business/corporate blogging. Here are the list of opportunities that can give a life line to bloggers----

Community vs. Solo Blogging

Community Blogging

If your key concern is to creating content or writing blog entries, then solo blogging may seem a bit much for you. That's why community blogging may be the solution if you wish to endeavor in to blogging professionally. With community blogging, your main focus is on the blogging itself; you don’t need to worry about blog design, control, SEO (not that much), traffic generation, and income stream so many. You can also devote to promotions and other business aspects of your blog, but such things are mostly left to the community sponsor/s and/or the business developers of the blog community

“Why do you blog? And how far will you go for it?”-Justify

Sounds like asking "G.W.B, the father of free world" why do you like war. . But anyway very important question to be ask yourself that what is the true reason you blog and how far(your cross line) you will go for reaching your goal. This weird thought circling in my mind since yesterday when I read news about Dallas Mavericks owner got sued for criticizing NBA official in his blog. I have done some research and I found out this was not the only case there were lots of incident through out the world where blogger got sued/ penalize even convicted for their blog. Some of them really deserve that considering the content they published, and some of them not. And not all of them were political bloggers some were just as usual bloggers like us.

I don’t know how many of you have read the blog “Baghdad Burning” – a blog written by a young lady straight from Iraq. The blog is hosted in blogspot. But since August 5,2006 she don’t have any entry, observing her frequency of post you will see it’s very odd. I wonder if someone just made her vanish

Photoblog/pBlog SEO

Photblog or pblog
A photoblog is a form of blog differentiated by the predominant use of and focuses on the author's photographs rather than text. Typically, some kind archive is available, often divided by month or category. Most photoblogs also allow visitors to leave comments that are associated with a particular entry. These comments allow a photoblog to establish a community of visitors. Comments usually link back to the commenter's site. This further permits the creation of a loose community with authors and visitors able to access, share and communicate through each others sites.

“Digg” your blog

You have seen many blog, including some of my own post that getting traffic/readers become main concern for bloggers (Especially first 6-8 months) doesn’t matter what is your purpose to blog. Instead of building better contents you had to deal with traffic, blog design, search engine, rating etc. A better way to attract some reader is “Digg” your blog. It’s very much free, yet very easy to do. Trust me within a minute after you “Digg” your blog site/location you will start to get readers.

What is “Digg”?

Bloggers Traffic Headache

Across the net there are nearly half a million site you will come across with advising traffic/SEO/ Search engine ranking. Lots of professional bloggers do also advice on traffic. But either due to complexity of the explanation or lengthiness very few of us good has really adopted that. Especially for blogger, it’s a serous headache, since he/she is doing everything like choosing best software for blog, writing best contents, participated in community blogs (leaving signatures), link exchange almost everything, but there is no sign of decent traffic. I myself faced that, and that nearly make me frustrated. So what’s the magic word/way to gain traffic or ranking?

Actually there is no magic word/way to gain traffic, that’s the truth nothing but the truth. Gaining traffic is time consuming, gaining ranking s more. Few things lets get straight up, so that you can follow:

Controversy of “Getting Paid To Blog”

“Getting paid for blogging” –became one of the most popular terms on the net. The popularity of blog, luring advertisers and industries to use it as a purpose of business, naturally money rolling for that reason. Few years back blogging used to be just a reverse chronological journal where blogger used to put down their thoughts, ideas and personal experiences. But as blogging evolved a lot since than so is the purpose and uses of blog. Though some blogger might think “getting paid for blog” is one way polluting the very idea blog built on that is clarity (Thoughts without intention). But I have to disagree with them, a blogger’s thought is independent, he/she can use it any way he/she wants while not corrupted. So if a blogger wishes to write something about a business/corporation or anything which may directly or indirectly give compensation shouldn’t be unethical, as long as his/her blog does not violate standard blogging ethics.

For example I wrote a blog hosted in blogspot with some Google adsense in it, which brings me revenue. On the other end I wrote another blog where there isn’t any adsense like ads but sponsored by a company to review/describe their products or services, which also bringing me money. What is the difference between these two? In one I decide my own topic; the other one topic is also decided by me just the subject matter is decided by other. Both cases the contents are my thoughts, creation of my own mind. So I really don’t agree that a blogger looses his/her purity when they blog for money. The purity, ethics is onto the blogger, whether he/she want to keep it or give it away. Even in commercial/ business post blogger can keep his/her own style, uniqueness and clarity.
