Photoblog/pBlog SEO

Photblog or pblog
A photoblog is a form of blog differentiated by the predominant use of and focuses on the author's photographs rather than text. Typically, some kind archive is available, often divided by month or category. Most photoblogs also allow visitors to leave comments that are associated with a particular entry. These comments allow a photoblog to establish a community of visitors. Comments usually link back to the commenter's site. This further permits the creation of a loose community with authors and visitors able to access, share and communicate through each others sites.

Problem with Photoblog SEO
It’s simple, since photoblog contains mostly pictures not words, you can’t do keyword tricks to boost up SEO. In fact most of the conventional SEO technique is useless here. And if you go through major search engines crawler FAQ, you will notice crawler skip graphics, audio, flash, JavaScript etc. Traditional SEO strategies are building upon keywords, contents and links, photoblog lack of two out of three. What photoblog has is link (one link per picture) which doesn’t change the situation a bit. So does that mean photoblog won’t come up high in search engine, yes it won’t if you stuck with general SEO techniques. You have to adopt different SEO strategy for your photoblog or podcasting, same goes with Vlog (video blog).

SEO for pblog
Categorize your picture blog, don’t just put it chronological/reverse chronological. Put your photos into categories named using popular keywords you will use to find/search those. Search engine will love it since your categories are keyword rich.

Alt image tag is major blow; we mostly miss when we post any pictures. Try to put as descriptive and meaningful Alt img tag as possible, since search engine won’t read the picture but will read the description. If your picture is about “mak six” and your Alt Img tag is “img13000” or something like that, search engine will never find you when someone really looking for “mak six”.

Since you don’t have lot of text in your pblog, try to increase amount of text by reply back to comments and add a bio in your pblog. This will give a big P.R (Public Relation) boost as well as some foods to search engine crawler.

Lastly use tagging, lots of photoblog software support “Tag”, relevant keyword.

The Example of Alt Tag, you will see when you hover mouse on the logo bellow.

“Digg” your blog

You have seen many blog, including some of my own post that getting traffic/readers become main concern for bloggers (Especially first 6-8 months) doesn’t matter what is your purpose to blog. Instead of building better contents you had to deal with traffic, blog design, search engine, rating etc. A better way to attract some reader is “Digg” your blog. It’s very much free, yet very easy to do. Trust me within a minute after you “Digg” your blog site/location you will start to get readers.

What is “Digg”?

Bloggers Traffic Headache

Across the net there are nearly half a million site you will come across with advising traffic/SEO/ Search engine ranking. Lots of professional bloggers do also advice on traffic. But either due to complexity of the explanation or lengthiness very few of us good has really adopted that. Especially for blogger, it’s a serous headache, since he/she is doing everything like choosing best software for blog, writing best contents, participated in community blogs (leaving signatures), link exchange almost everything, but there is no sign of decent traffic. I myself faced that, and that nearly make me frustrated. So what’s the magic word/way to gain traffic or ranking?

Actually there is no magic word/way to gain traffic, that’s the truth nothing but the truth. Gaining traffic is time consuming, gaining ranking s more. Few things lets get straight up, so that you can follow:

Controversy of “Getting Paid To Blog”

“Getting paid for blogging” –became one of the most popular terms on the net. The popularity of blog, luring advertisers and industries to use it as a purpose of business, naturally money rolling for that reason. Few years back blogging used to be just a reverse chronological journal where blogger used to put down their thoughts, ideas and personal experiences. But as blogging evolved a lot since than so is the purpose and uses of blog. Though some blogger might think “getting paid for blog” is one way polluting the very idea blog built on that is clarity (Thoughts without intention). But I have to disagree with them, a blogger’s thought is independent, he/she can use it any way he/she wants while not corrupted. So if a blogger wishes to write something about a business/corporation or anything which may directly or indirectly give compensation shouldn’t be unethical, as long as his/her blog does not violate standard blogging ethics.

For example I wrote a blog hosted in blogspot with some Google adsense in it, which brings me revenue. On the other end I wrote another blog where there isn’t any adsense like ads but sponsored by a company to review/describe their products or services, which also bringing me money. What is the difference between these two? In one I decide my own topic; the other one topic is also decided by me just the subject matter is decided by other. Both cases the contents are my thoughts, creation of my own mind. So I really don’t agree that a blogger looses his/her purity when they blog for money. The purity, ethics is onto the blogger, whether he/she want to keep it or give it away. Even in commercial/ business post blogger can keep his/her own style, uniqueness and clarity.

Ok so the searcher is searching for way to earn money through technology related blogging. And there are many organizations that provide variety of services, tools, promotion for blogging. And they earn millions of cash from their sponsor or advertisers. Are you guys following me

Business Blogging Basics

Business blogging is a bit different than the traditional blogging we do. Business blogging is one kind of corporate blogging where the focus is gaining business advantage. Unlike traditional corporate blogging, business blogging does not limit to blog on its products and service only. Recent year’s blog has become so powerful that business opportunity seeker using it more often. In business blog a corporation/or entity hire professional/ entrepreneur bloggers to blog for them following their directions. Though the bloggers have complete freedom on his/her writings but subject matters are mostly selected/chosen by the employer. Those blogs drives interested readers and possible business advantage to the employer. Blogger of business blog either paid a fixed salary or contract basis.

Clarity blog’s goals and objectives are similarly important in traditional and business blog. If I was being hired by a company to develop a blog I would work very hard at finding that company’s expectations for the blog out before starting it. The best practice would be doing research, lots of it. My sense in many of the questions that I’m being asked by bloggers and by business people wanting to hire bloggers is that many business blogs are being started simply because they seem like a good idea and because everyone else has one. While they can be a good idea and many people do have them, these are not good enough reasons to start one in my books. The most effective business bloggers that I’ve come across seem to know what their job is, know what the boundaries for their blogging are and stick within these boundaries

A-B-C of inline text advertising

Those who already have there own blog sites or frequent readers of different blogs should have noticed how ugly it’s become when too much ads shown in a blog. But on the other hand showing ads is the primary options for a blogger to earn extra cash. Without showing ads in your blog you can expect to have click revenue roll in your account. Though there are other methods for blogger to earn cash, but those are not suitable for bloggers who just started blogging or have less than 500,000 page views. And frankly speaking PPC (pay per click) ads gives me more money than any other methods, you will be shocked to know it can give you even AUD$1000 without a sweat even if you just started blogging.

Now we got ourselves a problem PPC ad gives us extra cash and we can’t show too many ads since it might make our blogs look commercial or ugly. The simple ways to fight back is “inline text advertisements” (these are PPC too, though some are exclusively Pay-per-sales). In my personal blog site I have experimented almost every single advertising program exist on the net, and finally had to draw a conclusion that I better go along with “inline text advertisements”. My recommendation to bloggers who want the best out of their blogs use Adsense as primary advertisement (don’t use more than three), secondary advertisement use Amazon or any other (use only one or two units of ad), and use inline text ads as much as you wish

How Adsense Earnings Comes to Bloggers

This is sumirize version of my many writtings on Adsense. For better understanding you are adviced to read some of those if you have time.

Well this is very important to understand, because without this you will never understand what kind of reader is your target. In Google Adsense revenue is generated for you when someone clicks on an Adsense advertisement on your site, you all know that; though other factor may imply too. Google charges the advertiser for the click thru and shares this revenue with you, as The amount you earn from an advertisement can be represented by the following mathematical equation

Blog promotion paradigm: The Free Way

Anyone who has spent a little time after blog promotion/web promotions definitely have an idea how pain in the ass this can be. In theories its just do this, do that and you are done, but reality is seriously alternative than that. When I first started blogging few years back, I saw thousands of advertisements that some companies will take care of my SEO, Blog promotion everything’s I just need to spend some cash. As a new blogger I fell for some of those juicy ads, and at the end the result is just one “my cash is going in vein”. SEO tricks, better web designs (compatible to search engine), promotion everything can be done by you (doesn’t have to be a gig for that) unless you are planning to make semi-corporate blog. Let’s get back to the topic of the day “Free blog promotion”.

As we all know promotion means expose’, letting other’s know the existence of your blog. So follow these steps you won’t find any easier ways than these.

Blog Feeds Monetizing

Feed is an important tool to catch up your reader. My personal experience shows more or less 50% of reader of blog comes from feed reader. So if you are interested in earning bucks from blog, you better not ignore the possibility of making your feed monetize. Yes there was a time when feeds(RSS, RSS2, XML, ATOM etc.) was just used to deliver updates of your blog to readers, but mates time has changed. If you are blogging to earn some extra cash or full time professional blogger ignoring feed monetizing is suicide (50% of your possible earning go down in the drain).

What is feed Monetizing?

Why do a blogger fail?

There are millions of blogs through out the net, and every minute new bloggers are joining the blogosphere. But how many of them become successful true blogger? Only handful of them becomes what literally blogger. Successful blogger doesn’t only mean the bloggers who are generating great revenue from their blog(s). A blogger who have growing readers, who follow blog ethics should be considered as successful blogger regardless of intention of blogging. Reader’s what makes the blog so unique, compare to static webpage. Blogging isn’t just writing a personal lifestyle or chronological diary, the depth of true blog is way more than those. Blog is a new form of journalism where writer express his/her views, ideas, experiences etc. which may be helpful to others. I sort out some basic points why most of the bloggers fail to become a true blogger.

1.Unaware Of Blog Basics: I have seen many blog across the net containing just family pictures, personal diary, obsession etc. nonsense elements which can not be consider as any way humorous or helpful to others. Those writers simply just unaware what are the basics of blog. A blogger should understand- Basic blog anatomy, blog terms, blog ethics etc. Those who do not care about blog basic should better stick with static web building rather than blog
