Blog promotion paradigm: The Free Way
Anyone who has spent a little time after blog promotion/web promotions definitely have an idea how pain in the ass this can be. In theories its just do this, do that and you are done, but reality is seriously alternative than that. When I first started blogging few years back, I saw thousands of advertisements that some companies will take care of my SEO, Blog promotion everything’s I just need to spend some cash. As a new blogger I fell for some of those juicy ads, and at the end the result is just one “my cash is going in vein”. SEO tricks, better web designs (compatible to search engine), promotion everything can be done by you (doesn’t have to be a gig for that) unless you are planning to make semi-corporate blog. Let’s get back to the topic of the day “Free blog promotion”.
As we all know promotion means expose’, letting other’s know the existence of your blog. So follow these steps you won’t find any easier ways than these.
1.Submit your blog address (URL) to Google, Yahoo, MSN and Alexa manually. Do not submit through auto submission or any other methods. Just do it conventional way. That will save you lot’s of troubles.
2.Apply for addition of your blog address in www.dmoz.org (open directory project), which will allow you to be added in all the major search engines directories. Remember Directory and Search engine submission is totally different from one another.
3.In yahoo submit your rss/rss2 feed URL in yahoo RSS submission.
4.There are several hundreds of blog directories out in the net. List your blog in them (the directories don’t require reciprocal link). You just search “blog directory” in Google or yahoo, you will find few hundreds of directories.
5.Burn your Feed (RSS2/Atom/ XML) in www.feedburner.com, and in optimize section activate the Feedflair (allow your reader to interact with your blog). In publicize section activate the “Pingshot”.
Apart from these join in some popular free community blogs (technorati, bloglines etc.), where use your original blogs URL and RSS feed location as signature. You can’t possibly imagine how affective this is. I myself blog in five community blogs, and all leads to my own personal blog site (I get minimum hundred visitors everyday from those). Finally keep patience mates, these is race of popularity takes a little time (8 weeks-16 weeks). The entire paid programs will do the same for you, why not do it by yourself? Much effective, faster and saves your wallet.
