Blog Feeds Monetizing
Feed is an important tool to catch up your reader. My personal experience shows more or less 50% of reader of blog comes from feed reader. So if you are interested in earning bucks from blog, you better not ignore the possibility of making your feed monetize. Yes there was a time when feeds(RSS, RSS2, XML, ATOM etc.) was just used to deliver updates of your blog to readers, but mates time has changed. If you are blogging to earn some extra cash or full time professional blogger ignoring feed monetizing is suicide (50% of your possible earning go down in the drain).
What is feed Monetizing?
Making your feed lucrative or money-generator. Almost same like your blog, showing ads and referral and earn money. But since feeds of blog aren’t an as usual web page you can not just edit and put some html code to show advertisements. Things are a little tricky than blog advertising here.
How do I monetize my feeds?
The million dollar question, that roles in our head. If you did some research on feed advertisement, you should have noticed feed monetizing is a total mystery. Reason is- the feed are mostly scripted in XML which is a lot different and very strict coding regulation, on the other hand most of the ads are wither pure HTML or JavaScript, which are very hard to integrate with each other. But as I mentioned before things has changed, now we can make our feed fruitful just like our blog. These are the ways and methods without editing your XML feed-
Pheedo/Blogsnob
This is an advertising network solution for RSS feeds of your blog. Pheedo pays you 65% of all advertising revenue generated by your feeds and sites. They don not provide any adult advertising.

The Bad: Available only for US publishers and Paypal is only payout method. Need technical knowledge to get proper results.
The Catch: 45% plus processing fees goes in their pocket, which is very high. The advertising isn’t controlled by you, so what ad is displaying, is that compatible to your content you never know. 60 days to get paid, too long time to wait.
Ads by RSS
This advertising network allows you to add advertisement in your blog’s RSS feed. Apparently new company does not specify exactly how many % is their share. But when you enroll they do turn your feed into one of their feed, and ad advertisement. You will promote the new feed instead of your original feed.
Kanoodle/Brightads
This is offered by one of the largest advertising network in the world. All application are subject to approval, but apparently they do approve if your blog dose not contain nudity and violence.
The Good: Multiple advertising supports, compatible with RSS, XML and ATOM.
The Bad: won’t be approving if you have less then 10,000 Page view per month.
The catch: Pays almost 90% of advertising revenue, and proven to pay regularly without delay.
There may be other advertising network like YPN and Google Adsense who offer feed advertising but all of them need expert editing in your XML feeds. Playing with your feed isn’t that good idea if you don’t know what you are doing. Other recommended reading on advertising can be found in my other blog.
