Being a teacher...
December 16th 2010 16:51
Sometimes I feel teachers have the biggest job on earth. So many minds to mould and teach values. Say please. Say thankyou. Don't do this. Tidy up after yourself. And most of the time the respect is low and behaviour is bad. Shouting was never me before I became a teacher. My voice is strong. Strong enough to perform in a open theatre Shakespeare play. Take charge of any situation, without shouting and make them feel your pain. Sometimes I have had enough. My energy is drained from the tap and I snicker and yell.
I hope that this is just one day, and then I feel the faces smile at me. They smile because I make them smile with my good morning. They are excited to see me, so I am too. That's where all the energy goes and its great. My energy goes into a changing generation. Hoping for only good things for each and every student to love and treasure their lives.
I have done one of my dreams before even realising it. I have given to others through the process of teaching my skills to others. Whether it is through script writing, and story telling and reading and writing, or arts and crafts. I have made one bit of difference and I feel happy to hear my name being called, 'Miss Anna'. Well most of the time that is.
