Behind The Scenes II

Should aircrafts risk going through thunderstorms rather than inconvenient passengers? I say only if there is some sort of suicide mission should this be attempted. Working at an airport, I have seen and heard of many emergency landings from thunder strikes on a plane. Sh*t happens and lives are at stake.
To read W3ckUiD3aPc:_Yyc:aUUF" target="_blank">this article you tend to sympathize with the poor passengers that are stranded and inconvenienced on a longer flight than expected. Imagine weather causing such havoc! It does.
Today I saw a flight bound for, ironically, Rochester, NY diverted to my town because of weather. Even though pax(passengers) were stranded on the aircraft for a couple of hours they were eventually let off for use of facilities and restaurant. How unfortunate. Why?
The restaurant in the airport was shut down due to flooding, the toilets were closed because of the restaurant, and pax could not leave the secure area to smoke or go to other airport restaurants!
S-happens, folks, and when you travel expect the unexpected unless you are truly suicidal! I will eventually give advise on how to be prepared for most unexpected incidents.
