Alright here we go Boston! Tonight is a night to get amped up and ready to root on our Bruins. The Garden should be rockin tonight with the Bruin's able to clinch a birth in the Eastern Conference Finals with a win tonight at home.
After a hard fought loss on friday night in Philly, the Bruin's have another chance to take out the Flyers. Only two teams in NHL history have ever rallied back from the 3-0 series deficit. And the Bruin's certainly don't want to add the 2010 Flyers to that list.
The last game, even though it was a loss, was a great display of courage and the Bruin's never die attitude. Rallying back from an early 2-0 deficit and then battling back once again after giving up a late 3rd period goal, the Bruin's still have their confidence. The Bruin's Mark Recchi tallied the game tying goal with under a minute left in game 4 to force OT. The Bruin's had their chances to win in OT but ended up on the short end of the stick when the newly returning Simon Gagne recording the overtime game winner.
The late game heroics by the Flyers ended the possibility of the 4 game sweep, but gave the B's an opportunity to close out the series at home. The Game is tonight at 7, and its finally on NESN.
The Bruin's have dealt with monstrous losses all season from players injuries and their mid season 10 game slide. But that has all changed now. The B's are playing with grit and determination. They have lost Sturm, Krejci, Seidenberg, and Mcquad, but it seems that every guy we lose another guy steps up and fills his roll. That is all we can ask for I suppose. Lucic has picked up his play and Satan is arguably our best player for this entire playoffs. Savard needs to step up now to fill the void left by Krejci and so does Bergy.
But our most unsung hero of the playoffs has been our defensemen. And the defenseman in particular is Dennis Wideman. Wideman spent the latter parts of this season getting booed and wished out of a B's uniform (I am just as guilty as anyone) but I can accept and admit a mistake and this guy has stepped up big time. Wideman is tied for second on the team in scoring with 10 points (1G 9A).
A win tonight is not a necessity, but it is something that would really benefit the Bruin's. They could use the rest and the confidence builder to rebound from a close defeat. So let's see it Bruin's! Make this city proud. Get us to the Conference Finals! Let's Go Bruins!
Once again the game is tonight at 7 on NESN! Must watch game tonight!
MVP MVP MVP MVP MVP
Seriously, after last night, Rondo can do it alone. It's something spectacular when you can speak your name along side Oscar Robertson and Wilt the Stilt Chamberlain, and Rondo can now do that. Rajon Rondo, don't be mistaken people, RAJON RONDO is the best point guard in the league. I have been saying this all year long. He isn't getting that respect, its always "the Big 3" but what about the "Big 1" because he has consistently been the best player all year.
The kid came out and dropped 29 points, 18 rebounds. Yes 18 rebounds for a point guard, and he had 13 dimes. Those numbers are just sick. They scream, I am the Team. He was grabbing offensive and defensive boards, scooping up rebounds from blocked shots, and just playing balls to the wall at both ends of the floor. As Magic Johnson said earlier on Sportscenter, "in the beginning of the year we were talking about the Big 3. Now we're talking about Rajon Rondo and the Big 3."
Before we get all happy and shit, can we talk about LeBron James, and the mystery elbow. C'mon dude give up that bullshit elbow injury. When he was dropping 21 points in the first quarter and blowing out the Celts in game 3, his elbow was absolutely fine. But when he's getting held to limited scoring and limited offensive opportunities, his elbow is the most troublesome thing in the world. Give it up dude.
As much as I hate Kobe for the rapist he is, the dude plays through injuries like no other. All year he has battled finger, hip, leg, foot, etc injuries and you never hear him bitching or moaning about his injuries. Kobe is a beast, the dude may be a complete scum bag, but he can ball up and take a beat down, without bitching or making excuses for himself or his team. I can respect that.
After getting blown out in the worst fashion possible, the Celtics managed to fight back and tie the series at 2 games a piece. Game 5 is in Cleveland on Tuesday, and if the Celts can continue riding the outstanding play of Rondo, I can't imagine the Cav's having an answer for him. The question is now raised whether LeBron should now cover Rondo, this would be troublesome for Rondo, but leaving Pierce to be covered by who? Mo Williams? Give me that all day. I think the Cav's have a serious problem here, Derrick Rose was shut out by LeBron but Rose's supporting cast is nothing like the C's. I say this because obviously LeBron covered Rose for a couple sequences in the last series.
Triple Double Triple Double Triple Double, Game 5! Can he do it? Hell yeah he can. Let's see it Rajon! The Celtics can put a big time damper on the Cavaliers with a game 5 win in Cleveland. This Cleveland team is not playoff tested and it will really question their character. And watch for LeBron's elbow, every time he fucks up its killing him, but then again he has no problem dropping the hammer hard at the rim.. makes you think huh?
Alright so if all you freaks out there haven't been watching the greatest playoff season of any sport than you all are morons. Just look at the NBA playoffs. The only series that is the least bit interesting is the Celtics and the Cavs.
Surprisingly, well not so surprisingly, just not normal playoff history for the Sharks. The Sharks have absolutely dominated the Series. They went up 3 games to none on the Red Wings after winning game 3 in Detroit. The veteran Red Wings weren't going to lay down and die, and came out brawling in game 4. They won decisively 7-1 riding the Mule's 4 goals, and the natural hat trick came in the first period. The Sharks bounced back at home and clinched the series with a 2-1 win to advance to the Western Conference Finals.
Staying out west, the Canucks and Blackhawks series which is a complete mystery to me, continues to surprise all. The Canucks came out and won game 1 in Chicago to go up in the series, and everyone was already counting out the Hawks. But the young Hawks found the weakness in Luongo, which is obviously putting people in his face and crashing the net. Riding back to back hat tricks by first Big Dustin and then Jon Toews. The Blackhawks won 3 straight games to take command of the series 3 games to 1 with game 5 going back to Chicago with a chance to clinch. The Canucks behind the finally supurb goaltending of Luongo won a lop sided game 4-1, to force a game 6 back in the Great Northwest. I'm gonna say that the Canucks are going to carry the momentum from the game 5 win and win again to force a game 7. Watch out for the Green Guys!!
And now to the Eastern Conference. The Pens and Canadiens series has been a very good series. All the games have been really competitive and some high octane goal scorers have been earning their paychecks. The only big time guy who isn't scoring is Sid the Kid. Look for him to play outstandingly tonight with the Pens having the chance to clinch in Montreal. The Penguins are up 3 games to 2 after winning game 5, 2-1. Marc Andre-Fleury played great in the win, carrying a shut out to the last few minutes of the game. I had the Penguins winning this series in 6 games and I'm sticking by my pick. The Pens win tonight in Montreal.
Is it possible for anyone in the world to have thought that rookie goaltender Tuukka Rask would have carried the B's this far? With a chance to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, the Bruins are playing at home tonight in the Garden. The Bruins had a 3 games to none lead and a chance to close out the series in Philly. Philly came out and got a quick 2-0 lead in game 4, but the resilient B's battled back and made a game outta it. The Flyers tallied a goal late in the third to go up 4-3, and was only 30 seconds from winning their first game of the series, but the once again resilient Bruin's tallied the game tying goal with the goalie pulled. The game went to OT where the newly returned Gagne pushed in the game winner to survive the sweep. Game 5 is tonight, big time game to question the character of the Bruins, hopefully they can pull it off and have a couple days to rest before the Conference Finals.

Last night was a hell of a night for Boston. I was pissed they were all on around the same time. I think i have carpal tunnel syndrome from clicking the remote so many times.

Game one took place on Saturday night. The Celtics and the Cavaliers who seem both seem to be really hitting on all cylinders of late. The Celtics off their impressive 5 game series win over the Miami Heat. And the Cleveland Cavaliers also coming off a 5 game series victory over the Chicago Bulls.
The Cavalier's star and newly named NBA MVP for the second straight season, LeBron James, stole the show once again. After awkwardly falling in the last game of the Bulls series, James complained of a soar elbow. The competitor that he is wouldn't acknowledge the injury and said that he couldn't afford to be complaining or worrying about it. LeBron finished with a game high 35 points and had 7 rebounds and 7 assists

In my opinion the best story of the playoffs, has already happened. Marc Savard, missing the last two months due to a grade 2 concussion, rips a slap shot near side beating Brian Boucher. I hope you all watched the game or at least the highlights. I know Savy likes to celebrate emphatically but after watching him throw his stick into the stands and then get mauled by his teammates I had never seen him so amped up. But let's throw this blog into reverse and do some game analysis.

So i went 5 for 8 in the first round with my predictions. I mean if Washington didn't shit the bed i would be looking good. I took the reach of taking LA over Vancouver, which was a good series but the Kings didn't have what it takes in the end. And Seriously who would have thought the Flyers would have owened the Devils like that. The playoffs are Brodeur's time to shine, but he and his team choked it up. So were on to the next round. The Conference Semi's.

As I hope you all got a chance to watch the #1 Seeded Washington Capitals absolutely collapse against the #8 Seeded Montreal Canadiens. I am speechless. After watching game 5 where the Caps seemed to completely loose faith in themselves, I was thinking that the experienced Habs have what it takes. And looky here, they did. Decisively winning in Montreal to force a game 7 in Washington, the Habs had the Caps on the ropes.
Behind the absolutely spectacular goaltending of Halak, the Canadiens won three straight games to advance to the conference semi-finals. Halak, only giving up 2 goals in 2 games, while facing nearly 100 shots, is absurd. This kid got hot and the Habs jumped on his back and rode him all the way to a series win. I cannot believe how well this kid performed. What he did was epic. Just purely amazing

The return of Thomas Vanek didn't mean shit Lindy Ruff and all you other Buffalo Sabre loving jack asses. All I heard and read from that shit bum squad is that they don't have they're super star and blah blah fuck that. What about us? We have battled injuries all damn year. We have been playing with Providence's top defensive pair for more than half the season. And don't forget that our super star, Marc Savard was injured for the latter part of the season and the entire first round unlike pussy diving Vanek who hurt his vag when he stubbled over his kankles.

After a crazy game yesterday.. must admit I didn't watch it because my eyes were glued to NESN and the Bruins. But I was switching back and forth. The Red Sox brought their bats yesterday. In an exciting and high scoring game the sox were able to squeak out a win against the 3rd seed in the East, the Blue Jays.
We need to continue to win divisional game because it's the only way we're going to catch up. We're now 2 games under .500 with 2 more games against the Jays coming up. The Jays are 10-10, hopefully with a sweep we can pass them into the 3rd spot and start making our run at the division leading Rays and Yanks.
