Ballet Flats--Hot or Not?
July 30th 2010 05:43
Hot? Not? A classic that’s always in style, or a passing fad?
Today I bought the first pair of ballet flats I’ve owned in my entire life.
First looked at Bloch for Dancers, but the soles of their flats aren’t meant for street wear. Also, the 85-pound ballerina practicing in toe shoes in front of the mirror made me depressed. I don’t like the Chanel ballet flats with the too-obvious designer logo, not that I can afford them, anyway. Saw a pair of Croc ballet flats on the net—just the thought makes me shudder.
Finally succumbed and bought the pair I saw on sale at Ojays. They’re black leather, with a ruffle of silver zipper detailing on the toe. Planning to wear them with slim jeans.

Do you like your ballet flats? What do you wear them with?
