BAD YEAR START FOR JOHN TRAVOLTA - UPDATE

January 12th 2009 18:15
John Travolta’ s fame started with the roles of Tony Manero and Danny Zuko in the movie Saturday Night Fever (1977) and Grease (1978) respectively. He has been nominated two times for an Academy Award and won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture –Comedy/Musical for Get Shorty.

He is married to actress Kelly Preston and has two children: Jett and Ella Bleu.

Actually, I should say had. John and his family were on holiday at the Bahamas when on January 02nd 2009, less than 48 hours after the year 2009 started, his son Jett, 16 – that sucks - had a seizure, hit his head in a bathtub and died.

The cause of death is still unknown. John Travolta and Kelly Preston always maintained that their son suffered from Kawasaki disease due to strong chemicals used to clean carpets while others argue that Jett suffered from autism, a mental disorder not recognized by Scientology.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Monday morning to find the cause of death.

Qantas sent their condolences to John Travolta, who is the airline ambassador.

If you wish to send your condolences, AssociatedContent.com has posted a list of addresses where fans might send their letters to John and Kelly. If you do decide to send a letter, event tough you might not like the guy or agree with his belief, just keep in mind that the lost of his child is causing him great grief. So please only nice and recomforting words.

UPDATE

The autopsy results are out but will not made public unless John and Kelly decide to. An unofficial report says that Jett Travolta died from a seizure disorder. Eonline.com wrote

"While the official results of an autopsy today have yet to been publicly announced, mortician Glen Campbell of the Restview Memorial Mortuary in the Bahamas confirmed to E! News that cause of death was a seizure and "there was no sign of head trauma."

"The body was in good condition," Campbell said."

What happened to reports saying that he hit his head in the bathtub?

John Travolta once more denied allegations that his son was autistic but that he suffered from Kawasaki Disease.

The body was cremated and the ashes were taken to the US and buried in the family home in Florida.
