Backyard Blues

I've been talking so much about the house I have forgotten to mention the backyard.
The block is 811m2 and had a huge pile of dirt on it leftover from the scraping out of the foundations. As it was somewhat low-lying we got a grader in to flatten out the mound as well as shipped in some more dirt so that there would be runoff in the wet times.
Considering we are in flood zoned area it was important to make sure we built up the block. The plans we have for the backyard include a swimming pool (waiting on the bank to lend us some more money for that project), a vegie patch and a compost pile.
The builders have a temporary outhouse established at the edge of our property so I'm figuring that may be the best place to start the compost.
As for the vegie patch, I may need to read up on a few skills there and ask very nicely those family members and friends who are more experienced in that area......................... ........LOVE YOU DA-ADDY!!!!
The empty block next to us is also up for sale and boy hasn't it been tempting to stretch the mortgage even moreso and invest in it. That would leave Mark with a 1600m2 block to mow (excluding pool, vegie patch and compost heap) which he doesn't seem to mind if he gets a ride on mower...more money!
